What part of “these aren’t provisional ballots” are you not catching?

I just called the Ohio SOS and asked if provisional ballots were being used on mismatched information and I was assured that they were. I informed them of reports that stated otherwise, and I wanted to get my information straight. Who knows. . .

Sounds like Ohio is not using provisional ballots for registrations with data mismatches, even though that’s what they were created for, in part.

Ok, looking into this. They were registered with a SS and/or driver's license, then have a different number. So, you register, then in the meantime (OH has 3-year driver's license term) you get a new driver's license. The GOP is trying to force the SoS to provide ALL these new drivers license numbers to all the polls (as I understand that). Honestly, I think that would be damn near impossible.

I'll let you know what I find out.

I went and read the Columbus Dispatch article. It says NOTHING about whether the ballots are provisional or not.

If the ballots are provisional, they can still be challenged when they are verified.

If the ballots are normal ballots, it is basically legalized voter fraud.

We need to know whether Brunner is still forcing them to cast provisional ballots.

Please read again - they are NOT going to use provisional - because DOING so would disenfranchise.... er, what he said.

That is what they should do, but the oHIo SOS said NO to them.
Let anyone and everyone vote, no checks what-so-ever.

Ohio DL require your SS# so even if your license was renewed your SS would still match up.

Brunner is not supplying the 220,000 names that are questionable to the county officials so that they can even have a heads up on who might be out to commit fraud.

Brunner needs to step down.

Not impossible at all. If in electronic form, the complete list could be transferred easily to all locations. Where necessary, a printed version could also be generated.

From the Ohio DMV

NOTICE: Effective November 19, 2007, individuals who are renewing a current Ohio driver license, Ohio commercial driver license (CDL), or Ohio identification (ID) card will no longer be required to present a Social Security card at an Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) license agency for verification at the time of renewal.

An Ohio driver license, Ohio CDL, or Ohio ID card, which is current, or has been expired for less than six months, is acceptable without further proof of the applicant’s Social Security number if it has been previously verified in the BMV’s records.

It has been verified already, even though it is not printed on the license anymore, the information is in a database somewhere...this is the information that is not getting to the county elections board, thanks to Brunner

So she says that if you apply with a bad address, you can vote, but if you don’t check a box that isn’t necessary, you can’t get an absentee ballot.

Any cop in the state can verify the info in seconds, right in the squad car. The cop, of course has permission to do so.

I was at a poll worker training last night in Clermont Co. and someone was baiting the instructors concerning early voting and not showing IDs. The instructors where very upset and said they couldn’t speak for the rest of the state, but our County required IDs. They probably stressed provisional ballots more than anything.

BTW, our small county sent out 20,000 absentee ballots this year and we went strong for President Bush.

I went thought the training last week in Lake County, and saw the same things. Our County officials are pretty confident that nothing is going to slip though but watch for some of the more populated counties (Cuyahoga) to have 1 problem after another, they always do.

The media has put such a spin on Ohio and are confusing early voting with actual voting. Early voters here had to vote by absentee ballot and all ballots will be checked against the records before they are counted or even mailed out.

SoS Brunner is not helping and I think most counties are going with what they know will work to guard against voter fraud

Good! It’s funny, Gen. Bing West has a new book, and he got exactly the same cover as my 2006 book “America’s Victories.” Really torqued me off.
