Gordon Smith thinkis he has to run to the left of Obama to win in Oregon. Only problem is he was 'brought to the dance' by conservatives. And even though Portland, Oregon is one of the most Marxist major US cities, the rest of the state is a much better representation.

Smith could well be toast. But a lot of it is his own fault. Like so many RINOs, he has over-calculated a bad hand, and jumped into the hands of an enemy that hates his guts.
