Why not? She disagrees with McCain about drilling in ANWR, she disagrees with McCain over the gay marriage amendment, so why not continue supporting the ‘conservative’ position on Amnesty unless it is not your own?
This is way bigger than ANWAR. This is McCain’s showpiece issue. She’d no more disagree with him on this than she would McCain/Feingold.

Because her position was widely known BEFORE she was selected and can’t change them now without looking stupid. She had no public position on Amnesty before.
