Palin addresses issues on television interview
Republican Vice Presidential candidate and Alaska governor Sarah Palin addressed issues yesterday relating to Latin America, including Hugo Chavez and illegal immigration, in her first interview with a Spanish-language network. The interview began with Univision anchor, Jorge Ramos asking Palin to clarify recent statements she and Republican Presidential candidate John McCain have made, characterising Senator Barack Obamas tax proposals as socialist. Palin denied ever having called Obama a socialist directly.
The interview quickly turned to US nemesis, leftist Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, who has repeatedly claimed the US is planning to attack Venezuela. However, Palin said military action was a last resort. We hate war. We want peace. We want through negotiation and sanctions if need be to put pressure on a dictator like Hugo Chavez, to let them see that they will not mess around with America the way that they want to, she said.
The governor also addressed illegal immigration, saying she and McCain supported a two-pronged approach of securing the border and then working with undocumented workers already in the US.
There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant - there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants.
We - our policy - John McCain has been so clear with his policy and it makes a lot of sense too.
We secure our borders first. But then with a comprehensive approach we must deal humanely with those who are here, and we must allow the steps to be taken to protect the families of those who are here, maybe as illegal immigrants today, she said.
McCain has made an effort to reach out to Latino voters, a constituency that could prove key in swing states in Novembers election. Latino support for the Republican Party ebbed earlier this year following a bruising battle over illegal immigration. - Reuters
they may bitch but I bet they do something about it. you need to be more pragmatic, either way there is gona a civil war here again, mccain delays it slightly. I dont see you guys standing up to mccain because he is "your" guy.
just tell me which voting block wants amnesty? heck he could get lots of dems on his side if he talked about deportation and securing the border. really all he is pandering to is "some" of the hispanics there are far more people in this country that want the border secured and the illegals gone.
You know its all fine and dandy but you do realize by the time the primary got to most of us Mccain was decided. Primary should be held the same day nation wide. I know they dont want to fight amoungst 8 people but at least I would have had my choice. I didnt even bother to vote in the primary.
you do realize anyone posting on this site is not voting for obama and if they were I am sure they would banned for other views. you are getting worked up over nothing. What I think some are trying to do is to get some of you mobilized against mccain when he is president, because quite frankly you guys will accept anything the purdy woman says to you.

I would've voted for Tancredo in the primaries if I had a chance. btw do you have an 08 patriot?
...and if you would take time to read through the thread, you would see the posts where pissant & I resolved this.
Also...I am not a guy....but I am a Sarah Palin supporter....and yes, I believe her.
I don't think Obama will win, but if Obamanazi, the Meglobamaniac, wins, accept that God is allowing our country to become an Obamanation. After 50 million murders of unborn babies, maybe its time. Look for:
- Increase the rate of infanticide.
- Our enemies to be emboldened, resumption of terrorist attacks.
- The spread and institutionalization of homosexuality.
- Institutionalization of socialism and a resulting economic depression.
- Resumption of the Fairness Doctrine and silencing of conservative talk, and escalation of thought control from kindergarten on up.
That's just for starters. Also look for a re-mobilization of Clintonista-era militia camps, a form of Buchanan's "backlash", springing up in outlying areas all over the country, armed and ready for what could be a bloody civil war. Our country could disappear. We desperately need a spiritual revival.
Other than that, well be OK.
Yes, I do realize that... If I had my druthers we would all vote in one national primary election...but in lieu of that I would love to see the caucus for the way of the dinosaur and the first voting go to a state that doesn’t have an open primary. Problem is, more states are moving to open primaries so it is going to get worse, not better.
