Palin Supports McCain’s Plan for Amnesty for ILLEGALS

Palin addresses issues on television interview

Republican Vice Presidential candidate and Alaska governor Sarah Palin addressed issues yesterday relating to Latin America, including Hugo Chavez and illegal immigration, in her first interview with a Spanish-language network. The interview began with Univision anchor, Jorge Ramos asking Palin to clarify recent statements she and Republican Presidential candidate John McCain have made, characterising Senator Barack Obama’s tax proposals as “socialist”. Palin denied ever having called Obama a socialist directly.

The interview quickly turned to US nemesis, leftist Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, who has repeatedly claimed the US is planning to attack Venezuela. However, Palin said military action was a last resort. “We hate war. We want peace. “We want through negotiation and sanctions if need be to put pressure on a dictator like Hugo Chavez, to let them see that they will not mess around with America the way that they want to,” she said.

The governor also addressed illegal immigration, saying she and McCain supported a two-pronged approach of securing the border and then working with undocumented workers already in the US.

“There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant - there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants.

“We - our policy - John McCain has been so clear with his policy and it makes a lot of sense too.

“We secure our borders first. But then with a comprehensive approach we must deal humanely with those who are here, and we must allow the steps to be taken to protect the families of those who are here, maybe as illegal immigrants today,” she said.

McCain has made an effort to reach out to Latino voters, a constituency that could prove key in swing states in November’s election. Latino support for the Republican Party ebbed earlier this year following a bruising battle over illegal immigration. - Reuters

I doubt you were ever planning on voting for Mccain.Exactly! If this one statement is the dealbreaker, then the poster was never a McCain supporter in the first place. The Amnesty issue can be tackeled later.

I've been reading the HCF for months now, and I am proud to be on the same side and to be working "side by side" with people whose ideologies may differ than mine for the sake of saving OUR country from an atrocity like Barack Obama!

So go back, tell the PUMAS, that there is at least one person here who thanks them wholeheartedly for their support of McCain and their hard work, their stand against their own party, and the fight to keep America free from a lying, dangerous, socialistic president.

She’s under the bus and we’re revving the engine. She has four years to prove she doesn’t deserve to be there.

I agree. Pumas rock-—they are true heroes in this election.

I’m a conservative voting AGAINST Obama.

Are you trying to intentionally piss off an entire voting block?

What I post here won't make any difference to them. I am realistic about where their loyalties lie, that's all. I was never very good at self-delusion.

Isn’t the point that the entitlement trough is bad for anyone regardless of race, color, or creed?

True, but at least citizens are legally entitled to be lazy pigs. ;(

In most states, illegals are not eligible for tax-payer funded services - but are given them anyway. I know that social workers in CA and TX are told to not ask anything about citizenship when signing people up for welfare or medicaid. And probably every other free handout that's available.

Let’s be clear here:

These posts are not attacking McCain for his border stand.

These posts are attacking Governor Palin.

The paleocons who make these posts are Pro Obama. I don’t care what third party they say they are voting for. They are just like Pat Buchannan on MSNBC. They seek to discredit the best alternative to Obama. They know the election clock. They know who is at the top of the ticket. They know that Palin has a much better relationship to the common person.

This paleo rejects it because they are threatened by it. They want the Republican party to be decimated. The emerging dominance of the Democratic party is something they blindly hide from.

This is a pro Obama post.

There is not substantive evidence of Amnesty in the post. It is simply left to the Paleos to stir the tea leaves around and tell us all ‘Yup its amnesty.’

I am not fooled Pissant.

That's my point. You can tighten up on entitlements across the board without singling out illegals. Reduce entitlements, tighten up on employers, and the illegals who are in it for free stuff will self-deport. The ones who remain are the ones that are worth keeping.

Sarah's statements do not indicate that she is unwilling to take any of these steps. It's actually a pretty nuanced statement once you get over the fact that she wasn't advocating chasing Hispanics around with butterfly nets.

As soon as some idiot start throwing around meaningless terms like paloecon and neocon I can safely ignore the rubbish that follows.

How’s this for some ‘pro-obama’ threads. Be sure to see who posted them. Might take a bit to scroll through them.

But please put me on all YOUR ping list for the anti-Obama threads you post. Maybe I’ll come around to your side.

You keep making threads that cause hysteria....frankly...it is time to grow up.... We need states like Colorado and if she had said no, it would have further encouraged the Hispanic vote for Obama.

This is a close election and we are drawing about 1/2 the hispanic vote of 2004 and we need every vote to offset the fraud from ACORN!!!!!! We cannot afford to alienate or energize pro-amnesty Hispanics against the Republicans this year, especially since Obama stated the other day he is going to move to legalize them immediately.... the same thing Kerry said at the end of the election in New Mexico back in 2004!

McCain has to neutralize the immigration issue in order to get more Hispanics to vote for him; many Hispanics tend to be religious conservatives and that is the group we need to vote for McCain over Obama... Obama had trouble with Hispanics in the primaries, we need him to have trouble in the general election. We'll take up the issue in mass AFTER the election when we will at least have a president who might listen to us vs Obama who is going to do more things we don't like than amnesty.

Frankly, people need to get their heads out of their rears and look at the big picture instead of our own little world... that is unless you WANT Obama to win???? and trust me, there is a growing body of evidence that the real disaster would be a President Obama..

One more thing.....Hispanics are self-deporting in large numbers because of the housing melt-down and lack of work up here. Frankly it is cheaper for them to live in Mexico than most areas of the USA and one reason for the housing meltdown has been Hispanics walking away from houses and returning to Mexico.... states like Arizona, Oklahoma, etc., have cut off all the freebies to non-citizens at the ballot box (unlike California that continues to let them feed off the public tit).... Yes, immigration is an issue, but when the economy turns around and they start to return, we will be much better off with President McCain than President Obama in dealing with them...

No.

I saw this movie in the fall 2006 and I really don’t want to see it again this fall.

So admit it.

The post doesn’t really justify the claim that Palin is for Amnesty.

Or maybe admit you don’t really know what amnesty is and the ambiguity of the term is part of your rhetorical magic— telling us who is and isn’t pro-amnesty.

you’ve got your fire and you’ve got your crowded theater.

I don’t have to cheer you on.

that is idiotic, but if you really believe that then you probably were not voting for him in the first place and in the second place enjoy life in the gulag when Obama/Ayers start implementing THEIR vision of America which DOES include amnesty!

I watched all the debates, pissant. Hunter was okay, but not great... actually the only person who showed any charisma in the debates was Huckabee.... and NOOOOOOO I did not vote for Huckabee.... but I like his TV show and if he had shown himself to be as intelligent as he has on his TV show he probably would have beat McCain in the primaries because he is a much better communicator..

Immigration is a problem.... NO ONE is denying it.... but right now is not the time to go with a democratic president because our candidate is not a great communicator or our candidate is not a round-em-all-up and send-em-back zealot.

To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?

I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.

like I said... grow up!!!! quit being a Paul Revere unless you want Obama to win... there is other matters, you have to look at everything, not just immigration.... other things like the fact Obama and Pelosi and Reid WILL bring them all in and make them legal and there is nothing any of us will have to say about it... and they will load the SCOTUS with more people like Ginsberg.... and Obama evidentaly (if people have paid attention) wants to bring back the draft and include women by making national service manditory....
