Money well spent — and she should be allowed to keep them — as her Vice Presidential wardrobe...

I have no problem with her keeping them either. After al lthis though, she may not want them. Its really sad how the some are trying to ruin what should be an exciting time for her.

if someone was to look at what Hillary Clinton spent during her campaign on fashion accessories

There was an article here yesterday from Hillary's fashion advisor (how would you like to have THAT Herculean task?) who said that they don't pay for Hillary's stuff, the people are so glad for the free publicity that they don't charge.

The free clothing explains why she looks like she buys at the Goodwill stores.

BTW, her pantsuits are 'priced' at $6,350 each, which is about $6,345 too much.

I agree. While it isn’t a huge issue for me since it wasn’t taxpayer dollars, it does make the GOP look like the party of the rich. It also doesn’t help with the idea of “cutting spending” either. Finally, I am sure some Conservatives running for Congress needed the money far more than she did.

There are alot of people who do recognize exactly who is wearing what designer.

And many of them are snobs working for the elite media.

I suspect you could include people like Peggy Noonan and Kathleen Parker in that category.

It isn’t only about looking good - it is about dispelling the notion that Sarah is some redneck hick who would embarrass the US in the office of VP.

Bingo! You hit the nail on the head there! I wouldn’t even be a bit surprised to find that the very people you mentioned were behind this getting out. Why does Noonan hate Palin so much?

You would not make it far in the public spot light. I do not take up for what it takes to win in America today, but ignoring reality is a losing proposition.

Speaking of Hillie, a blast from the recent past...

Hillary Clinton's $6,000 Beauty Sessions

And everybody remember Bubba's infamous LAX haircut...

Honey, to judge by your screen name you are a guy. I’m betting also that you’re a straight guy, not a gay person who spends a lot of time studying the construction and cut of ladies’ business attire. So this is not your area of expertise. (Just taking a guess here!) After nearly half a century of shopping for women’s clothes and some time spent working with clothes on a professional basis, I probably know a little bit more about this question. Consider it a compliment! ;-)

Yes, Sarah could probably have made out with clothes from an ordinary department store. And it would have been a gamble when the hard usage of the campaign trail made the seams pop, threads loosen, buttons break or come off. And the press would have crucified her for dressing downmarket. Not worth it.

Read the link one of the other posters put up on the reason men on the Hill buy custom suits. You can tell; it gives authority and makes a difference.

How tall is she?

Because if a womnan's over a certain height, it's almost impossible to find dress/professional clothes off the peg.

Wasn’t it Nixon that people said lost to Kennedy because he looked bad on tv, with all the sweating and ill fitting suits?

I suspect the same reason why you’ll see many women in offices across our nation swarm and attack the new hire - especially if she is both beautiful and smart.

The best definition I’ve seen of misogny goes something like this...”when men hate women as much as women hate women”

Why does Noonan hate Palin so much?

It is pure self-protective snobbery. Peggy is from a rather humble blue-collar background who has clawed her way up the social ladder in New York. She gets more acceptance from her upper-middle-class Ivy-educated friends if she affects to turn up her nose at Palin; it makes her appear to come from a better background than she does.

I don't know how tall she is. But you speak the truth. I'm tall and I can never find anything long enough. Ralph sometimes, but even his stuff often has to be altered.

What they are not saying, is that it was clothes for the whole family...7 people for several weeks of campaigning.

The first night she was announced, she brought in several Millions of dollars to the campaign...I am sure they don’t mind paying this...

I don’t have one ounce of a problem with this. It is like buying the costumes for a play, or uniforms for your workers. This is what her position demands.

And I would now like to know what the Dems have forked out to their candidates.

If you shop at a Home Depot in a cold-weather area you've seen racks containing their knockoffs of Carhharts. They're those one-piece heavy zip-up suits for hard outdoor work. Carhhart is a brand and it really is better than almost anything else. When you see a farmer in cold weather, he is almost certainly wearing Carhharts.

A lot of weeds in the Republican garden.

Still, this piling on is ridiculous.
