I lived in Ft. Worth during early 80s and listed to 820 all the time. I was an engineer at General Dynamics.

I remember there was a morning and evening drive team (they actually worked both shifts). They were a hoot. The older guy did his part of the show from a helicopter and if I remember correctly, seems I heard he was part of the Oswald police detail when he was shot. My wife and I were also friends for a while with an evening personality on 820 named Art and his wife (cant remember his last name).

Hal Jay and Dick Seigel were the morning AND evening drive team for WBAP.

Hal still does mornings, but Dick has retired. They were the closest thing to competition for Ron Chapman at KVIL.
