Dr. Laura actually has some good advice her and again. But having said that, it really galls me that she makes money using other people’s pain. Her pop-psychology acts as a culture-threatening phenomena-—much like Oprah, IMHO-—aka, the quick fix. Laura is just “conservative” as opposed to Oprah’s “liberal” but at the end it’s all the same. Beside I really hate how Dr. Laura interrupts people and then speaks as the “all knowing one”. Maybe that’s what annoys me about Obama, too. :)

Here is the first one...
Pop-psychology my butt!
She deals with problems in a straightforward way.
I dare say given the bitterness you are displaying she probably has stepped on something in your own life that you did not appreciate.

I guess you can say the same thing about anyone's service some one seeks and they get money. Doctors, Therapist, Paramedics, Police, etcc... They all benefit from others pain but still want to be helped by them. Wow and they make money.

I don’t like her either. She is often quite rude and condescending.
What bothers me about this passage is her saying that people who get divorced are so selfish. I remember when divorce was more difficult, and yes people stayed together because it was harder, but they were miserable and lived in horrible relationships with each other. I think that’s why most divorces now are filed by women. Used to, they had no choice but to stay in awful situations for economic reasons. Now because many have good jobs, they don’t put up with the crap that they’re getting at home. It’s sad but true.
