Could someone like a George Soros or multi-billionaire arab be manipulating the stock market?Possibly, but I think it's just carry over panic - people trying to 'take profits' from the gains made yesterday.

The market is tanking because people are looking for any excuse to dump stocks. The smart ones among them. The credit balloon has been pricked/rendered and the escaping air will take months, if not years to work itself out. I say years because if the govt keeps pumping money in to shore things up, it will be drawn out.

seems valid.
how about the micro donations.
would not surprise me if some former KGB computer geeks are spending petro dollars on obama t-shirts under the name “1234567890”
it is all possible.
remember the short sellers (soros) are back on the market.

Living on the West coast, we are all too familiar with this tactic by the media. We get so tired of climbing into our cars after getting off work only to turn on the radio and hear the election is over. I still vote but I know a lot of people take the bait and go home without even voting.
The 'rats talk about the Fairness Doctrine, what about the demise of journalism and the fact that they are now just an extension of the 'rat party. They need to be dismantled. We need real journalism not media manipulation of "facts".

If you think Soros and his minions arent doing all they can to tank the economy, THEN youre a conspiracy theorist. I wouldnt be surprised if this whole banking failure problem has been organized specifically for the purpose of getting BO elected. NOT kidding.
Maybe thats what Obama meant when he said You dont know who youre dealing with. That phrase has stuck in my mind and Ive been wondering what he was refering to. Maybe we know now.

I think it is an operation but I don’t quite know who is directing the players around.
To: mimi from mi
If you take off the tin foil hat it doesn’t get any better, the markets continue to tank on the thought that obama, reid, pelosi, frank, etc will soon control the economy of the United States of America...... (gloom)

I fear what this country will be like after a McCain/Palin win in November. Fear that as much as an Obama win?

Different kind of fear, the immediate kind when Obama loses, the generations long kind of fear if he wins.
I think the press will help stir up a really bad situation when Obama loses, one of the “news” people will not be able to resist calling the country racist, etc.

You almost put your finger on why Dinosaur Media outlets are collapsing...massive layoffs in the printing and distribution departments. People are starting to disbelieve the Media, and belief is the only raw material they hold. No credibility, no revenues. It’s that simple.

They made a big mistake this season, they went in the tank for Obama against Hillary and created a backlash with the last group of people they had any credibility with, democrats.

It wouldn’t take a genius to know that if US stocks fell the demand for oil would fall with it.
So oil-producing nations would naturally have a short position in our markets to offset that- it’s just a good and typical business practise.
The interesting thing is that there’s nothing anyone can do with money they make shorting our market (except using it as cash for expenses). Without us there are no markets LOL!
Interest rates will be very low as that money comes back to us- driving an improvement in our economy and then the world’s.
