Now about the Dunham’s
as reference:
Obama—>Stanley Ann-—>Stanley-—>Ralph-—>Jacob
There have been various family trees posted on the net. The Chicago Sun-Times was one source.
Ralph Waldo Emerson DUNHAM
Occupation: auto mechanic; tooling dept. of Boeing Aircraft
That really bothers me. Because it only gives a small splice of his occupational history. He was not a blue collar worker all of his adult life.
Census info:
1900 census 6 years old no occupation
1910 census 16 years old no occupation
WWI Draft Registration “Ran a cafe Owned business” in Witchita
1920 Census 26 years old auto mechanic
1930 Census He was a druggist
His father Jacob was a pharmacist
Without saying so, the narrative lends to the impression that the Dunham side of Obama’s family is a long line of blue collar workers. I call it a lie by omission. I have to wonder why the Chicago Sun-Times chose the only mention of being a mechanic as a way to present Ralph Sr to the world in 2007.

That’s not true. The Dunham line was what we would call professional as opposed to woring a trade.
Stanley made choices in life that put him on a different path. He seems to have been the exception.
