Palin accuses Obama of gender bias

HENDERSON, Nev., Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, in an appearance Tuesday in Nevada, accused Barack Obama of discriminating against women.

Palin, accompanied by a handful of former Hillary Clinton supporters, said that the Democratic presidential nominee "couldn't bring himself to pick the woman who got 18 million votes in the primaries" when he chose a vice president, The Washington Post (NYSE:WPO) reported.

"The qualifications are there, but for some reason the promotion never comes," she said. "You've got to ask yourself, why wasn't Senator Hillary Clinton even vetted by the Obama campaign?"

Lynn Rothschild, a member of the Democratic Platform Committee, Elaine Lafferty, a former editor-in-chief of Ms. Magazine, and some local leaders of the National Organization for Women joined Palin at the Henderson Pavilion. One NOW chapter in Los Angeles has endorsed Palin.

Palin also charged that women in John McCain's campaign are paid more equally than those in the Obama campaign. An Obama aide acknowledged the disparity, telling the Post that McCain has more senior staff who are women.

I think it is intended to be The One. At least many bloggers are taking it that way. Same pic and read some of the comments here

A couple of the comments are right on but probably best not to quote them here on FR.

Like I said...I found the candle (it really looks like 0bama’s face) insulting. Good find on locating the Saint/Holy Card that the base photo was lifted from. Frighteningly, he IS the messiah to many.

Didn't mean to dis your environmental comments. The restrictions here are getting harder and harder for me to comply with, take your expired/unused pills here, take your electronics here, put your paper in this, put your plastic in this, put your glass in this, bundle and tie your brush no longer than 5' and 6" diam, extra charge for special garbage can with place for the robo garbage truck to grab, no burning leaves, all lawn refuse in special kraft bags, don't know where to take my dead batteries, tires there, don't know where to take my stale gas (hardware store got rid of last for me), dispose of old paint wherever. No smoking almost anywhere. Drinking ok almost anywhere except don't drive drunk. And so on.

I can see it for some of it, but it is so intrusive and won't use the words I'd rather, rigid.

Couldn't agree with you more; his face does look like The One morphed onto St. Martin. Yeah that messiah thing is just plain scary, we are the ones you've been waiting for, you will experience an epiphany. If our side invoked religious phraseology like that, we'd be all over the MSM as hateful RW bigots.

Rhetorical flourishes, anyone?

First I looked for Fr. Junipero Serra, was thinking maybe Juan Diego but he wouldn't be portrayed as a priest or monk, then stumbled onto St. Martin.
