Tehran (AsiaNews) - "Iran arrests spy pigeons near nuclear site": this is how the semiofficial news agency Fars reports that "security forces have arrested two suspected 'spy pigeons' near a complex for uranium enrichment." The agency quotes the newspaper Etemad Melli, and specifies that one of the pigeons was captured near a sensitive facility in the city of Lashan, in the province of Isfahan. According to anonymous sources, the pigeon had "metal rings, with invisible strings" attached to it. The same anonymous source adds that "early this month, a black pigeon was caught bearing a blue-coated metal ring, with invisible strings." Fars says that "the source gave no further description of the pigeons, neither their current status nor what their fate will be." The agency then recalls that Natanz is the location of an underground nuclear facility, and that last year it formally protested against the use of espionage by the United States, in order to produce a report on the Iranian nuclear program.
So, how did they know the strings were there, if invisible?
Those Iranians say the weirdest stuff...............
This will make your day.
Hopefully they aren’t stool pigeons, otherwise they might sing like canaries.
Has the Eagle landed yet?
man,the humiliation! first the mock trial,,then the parading thru the streets,,do we really need this now???
What’s the word on the effectiveness of the S300 SAM system against pidgeons?
Did they employ Dick Dastardly and Muttley?
I have a feeling those pigeons will be grilled by the security forces;)
Reinforcements....LOL
“So, how did they know the strings were there, if invisible?”
If the CIA is capable of inventing invisible string, why can’t they invent invisible cameras? I would suspect photo intelligence would be much more reliable than whatever a pigeon could tell them. “What are you trying to tell me, Spy Pigeon? Little Timmy fell down the well?”
Will they waterboard the pigeons during the interogations? Where is the outrage from Amnesty International and PETA?
A pop top and some monofilament fishing line. Change comes slow in Iran.
Lol ... or "made to stew" by the interrogators ;-)
Tar and defeather them.
Stool pigeons?
