The link provided gets some of the facts wrong. Obama was a member/endorsed candidate of the New Party, not the Chicago DSA. He WAS endorsed by the DSA, and gave speeches at their forum, but there is no proof that he was a member of that org.
Also, the New Party was not created by the DSA. It was more of an ACORN/SEIU creation and later on had about 15% membership by the DSA.
