The low-resolution scan available on the Obama campaign Web site appears to have neither of those. The ink from a date stamp, "June 6, 2007," is visible clearly, but it appears that the document does not have a seal or signature. The campaign only scanned the front of the document.

Without the seal and signature, the document on the Obama Web site lacks legal weight, and does not count as representing the official birth record of Mr. Obama.

This is simply wrong. There are much higher resolution photographs available of the purported Obama birth certification at factcheck.org.

What about the hospital copy? That would prove he was born in a hospital in Hawaii. Anyone can send in information that will result in a registration, for example, in the case of home birth.

Fact Check is an arm of the Obama campaign. But you knew that.

If O says he was born in Kenya and registered in Hawaii, then why does the certificate say HONOLULU, OAHU, HONOLULU?
Isn’t that contradictory and doesn’t that invalidate the document?

First I’ve seen of it. Finally, good convincing pics. To his/their credit, that’s pretty hard to refute save for obscure technicalities that will be hard to prosecute.

Thanks for the links. So much for “computer generated” unless someone is going to argue that they were computer generated, printed, then photographed.

Why did the DNC send lawyers to quash the lawsuit if BO has a state abstract copy of his birth certificate? Cost money to go to court. Something is not right here.

That’s a Certification of Live Birth, anyone can get one of those. We want to see the Certificate of Live Birth, or long form. If I’m wrong someone can correct me but is that not what is considered to be the official birth certificate of Hawaii?

That's all very nice, but it's not a birth certificate It doesn't give the hospital or have the doctor's or midwife's name and signature. It could very well be based on a "late filing", which is allowed under Hawaiian law.

It also does not show any previous names, or name changes. We know that he was adopted by his stepfather, and went by his name, that adoption and name change back to Obama, would be reflected on the original birth certificate. The CLB only reflects the latest data in the database.

A “Certification of Live Birth”, in no way, whatsoever, FACTUALLY confirms the actual place of birth.

FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE, OBAMA COULD HAVE SIMPLY REQUESTED THE LONG FORM, WHICH IS A CERTIFIED, EXACT COPY OF THE ORIGINAL.....THAT WOULD HAVE INCLUDED THE HOSPITAL, DOCTOR, AND OTHER KEY DETAILS OF HIS BIRTH EVENT......BUT HE DID NOT DO THAT....DID HE??? JOHN MCCAIN DID.

Berg said factcheck is affiliated with the Annenberg (sp?) project. I have so much more research to do.

Until the REAL long form BC is presented I will continue to call bull sh-t on anything presented by the Obama organization. They lied to us the first time and the second time, who says this is not just a better forgery!
