I think Kristol has it wrong. The tendency of a person like Obama is to compensate for his lack of experience by overreacting. Rather than do nothing, he is just as likely to do way too much.

Possibly. Biden's reference to Kennedy is interesting. Young naive and inexperienced Kennedy had his head handed to him by Khrushchev in Vienna. He swore it wouldn't happen again. The end result was American troops committed to the defense of VietNam.
