Sorry, this is a scam. And as much as the Dems and their friends in the media want to rip into the life of anyone they deem to be a threat to Obama, I think the same standard should be applied here.
This is obviously a political ploy. Obama gets to highlight that he’s part white and he cares oh so much about his typical white person grandmother. I’m sure they have some polling that tells them that he needs to humanize himself and that he still seems ‘too foreign’ to all the typical white gun-clingers and church goers in the hinterlands.
In addition, this narrows the timeframe to get in some licks before the election. Plus the McCain campaign is starting to hit him on his history as a cokehead.

I disagree. The timing is just too perfect. So far the Obama campaign hasn’t done anything that hasn’t been calculated and orchestrated.
I think you have hit it. I watch MSNBC to see how they are spinning it because you can see right through what they are doing. Obama does everything for political gain. When they said that Obama was going to be going off the trail for 4 days they kept up the picture of young Obama with his “white” grandparents. They kept this picture up a long time. Why would the Obama campaign give MSNBC this picture?
The Obama campaign with their thousands of pollsters must be doing terrible with voters because of Obama’s association with Jesse Jackson, Farakan, and Rev. Wright. I also believe taking 4 days off he is trying his best to stop the bleeding. Obama has lost momentum from the attacks from the McCain campaign and they will keep coming. He is trying to stop the freefall in the polls.
There also might be a scandal out there (ie the birth certificate). I saw the statement and Obama made sure he emphasized his grandmother took care of him since “he was born in Hawaii.” The interview with API might be coming out.
