LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) A popular local TV anchorwoman who had a small part in the Bush biopic "W" was in critical condition Monday after being beaten in her home, and police said they are investigating possible motives.
KATV anchor Anne Pressly, 26, was found about 4:30 a.m. Monday by her mother, who went to the house when her daughter didn't answer a wake-up call, Little Rock police spokesman Cassandra Davis said.
Davis said investigators are talking to Pressly's co-workers to determine whether she "has had any problems." Davis said Pressly's purse was gone and that robbery was among the possible motives being explored. Davis would not discuss specifics of what the investigation revealed.
Pressly was found unresponsive in her bed and a police report said she was bleeding from her head. Davis said Pressly was in critical condition at an hospital.

Ouch.. God forbid something like this should ever happen.
Any bets it will be tied back to some “rage crazed republican” ??
Anne Pressly
Absolutely it will be blamed on a crazed republican! I got blamed by some nut jobs as being at fault for the Democrats state chairman getting shot and killed! Seriously we need to be praying for this girl! Apparently someone took her purse and her dog but no forced entry...I think it was someone who knew her.
And..and...and then "they" burned down a church.
And...and...and then there was a lynching.
And...and...and then "they" stopped people from voting.
And...and...and then "they" gave taxpayers money to Haliburton.
Damn.. she is cute too.
Prayers up..
She was pro-Bush in the film. How could she be an anchor at 26?
Might be she is really really good.
“How could she be an anchor at 26?”
I guess you missed Reply #3;)
“How could she be an anchor at 26?”
Silly question . . . don’t need talent nor brains . . . just gotta’ be able to read stuff written by someone else, look gorgeous, and stare in the camera for probably 5 to 10 minutes each half-hour . . . and make a 1/2 a million bucks per year.
I hope she gets well quickly, and that the police recover her bag of lies so she can resume her journalistic career.
huh? She was staunchly pro Bush in the film. I think you are bit confused about the potential motive here. Think again. There’s a sickness out there and it’s spreading. I can’t believe the comments here. She was nearly beaten to death.
I really mean no harm to the anchor woman, nor do I mean any offense to you personally. What I mean to imply is that just as Diogenes of old spent his life searching for an honest man, I have spent the almost 45 years since I first served in Vietnam (first time there was November ‘63)looking for an honest journalist. Like Diogenes, I have never found what I was looking for. Like Diogenes, I have become a cynic. IMHO, the standards of journalistm have been low throughout my adult life, and now journalists proudly strive not to live up to even the low standards they set for themselves.
