Just got here, so perhaps it’s already been mentioned, but I remember that Colin Powell was SecState (and Richard Armitage was his #2) during the Valerie Plame mess, and it was later revealed that Armitage was the leaker and that he’d told Powell about it when the “scandal” first broke. Both men withheld that information from President Bush, and allowed Scooter Libby to be dragged through the mud and ruined.
I wonder what Bush 41 saw in Powell in the first place?
