I DO go into a trance when I listen to Obama speak.
After awhile I can see his lips move, but all I hear is “blah blah blah blah...8 years of George Bush..”
I say to my husband “what the hell did he just say?”
Ericksonian Hypnosis and NLP is a genuine thing but difficult to prove that to was being used.
One would need to assemble a panel of hypnotherapists to evaluate his speeches and appearances.
my dad (a chiropractor) took classes in hypnosis. he hypnotized my mother on a regular basis to help her with weight loss. he hypnotized me to help me get better grades in math. funny, the math grades went up, and my mother never lost weight til years later.
p.s. I do believe what he is doing is possible. might have something to do with his pale blue colors in the logo, or something like that. but millions of people are being affected by this. amazing.
give me...
your money....
Eh.. didn't work. Must be b*llsh*t.
THank you for posting this thread again - its important that more people see the document. Ill include links to the prior threads below in case you want to skim the comments there (I found several interesting).

NOte that the PDF is worth reading although I just skimmed the first 16 pages to get to the part where they start providing examples of Obamas techniques. The document can be hard to make oneself read because it initially seems preposterous and the formatting is annoying but you do need to read through it to understand the better material that occurs toward the end. I and a few other posters found the footnotes to be worth reading and we checked out various web pages linked there.
For those who dont want to read the doc a suggestion: If you do watch the 30minute infomercial Obama has planned pre-Superbowl, sit down with pencil and paper and jot down a few notes about these topics: (make a beer game out of it!)
1. Make a mark on the paper each time Obama says a literal or figurate truth (i.e. today is a new day, I am standing here, we are here together etc, we need change.) This is to lower psychological defenses and he does it evenly and repetatively to keep logic barriers down.
2. Write down the last word Obama says before each long pause. He talks in 4 to 8 word sentences slowly - write down the word just before the pause. It should be words or impressions he intends for you to involuntarily recall on voting day.
Extra Credit: Note instances where he holds thumb and forefinger together like a pencil.
If you see these behaviors during the informercial - you may want to come back and read the PDF so you may want to save a copy now just in case! : )
These are just a few of the simplest techniques covered in teh document. By the time you add them all up it no longer looks like coincidence.
Unfortunately, if Obama is indeed using hypnotic techniques, his Superbowl infomercial is his last chance to reach more people and to fortify hynotic suggestions for those he has already reached. If he is even partially sucessful - then a number of people will not know why they changed their vote to vote for Obama at the last moment on Nov 4th.
Also - one poster on one of those threads posted a 30 year old film clip of a Russian defector describing the stages of mass manipulation (similar but not formally the same) planned for the US...way back then! And...sadly enough - he was quite right. Heres the eerily prescient old film clip:

Maybe this is why he needs to use teleprompter, to follow the script exactly. And he wants 30-minute prime time, to affect wider audience.
Like Bill O’Reilly.. he was ready to really go after the guy until he agreed to an interview, now BOR cannot kiss Obama’s feet hard enough each and every day... he even had Laura Ingraham scratching her head on his show Thursday evening, go to his site and watch the exchange... it’s a jaw-dropper.
This post interests me. What also interests me is that the PDF doesn’t seem to have a signed author, although the PDF refers to a “Daniel” as the author, perhaps the “Daniel Zanoza” mentioned in the file?
Either way, someone went to an awful lot of trouble to make this document... not something that was banged out overnight.
Interesting read. Long though. Makes a convincing case.
Although the article claims Obama is a master of hypnotic technique, one would assume that like everything else, this too has been handed him. The question is by whom? Who is his trainer? Who does his speechwriters consult with?
The first time I heard Obama speak I was reminded of Bill Ayers. They use many of the same techniques. I watched Ayers take over the rational minds of small groups of people some of which became his followers (39 years ago). As I gradually learned about the connections between Ayers and Obama I have felt a certain dread.
Obama simply is not intelligent enough to understand this, let alone use it. He truly is a mental midget.
Sorry O, your Jedi powers don’t work on me.
I think this guy just has his hand out for a government study grant!
I don’t think it’s hypnosis, he’s just putting his audience to sleep by repeating change in between every other word and never saying anything of substance.
Uh, and I, um, and ugh, ugh, and, when we, I um, ah, yes we can, ummm..
The cadence is clear now.
Whatever he is using, it sure as heck hasn’t worked on me.
I don’t know if there’s anything to this. I have a little more faith in people, but it could explain the reasoning behind Obama wanting 30 minutes of air time on the Networks... one more chance to put the whammy on everyone.... wooowowowoowowooooo
Thanks for putting this up again.
We might want to teach our children about this stuff, so that they are able to spot it being used by pickup artists, salesmen, lawyers or politicians in the future.
It just might be that this was what Obama was learning during his years that we know so little about.
Like many of you, I went into this thinking oh boy, tin foil hat time, but the deeper I went, the more it seems to explain. Its long, and the first 16 pages are kind of promo without proof, but I encourage each of you to study the whole thing and then decide for yourselves whether or not you are completely unconvinced. If nothing else, when you are done, you will have a good idea about how Eriksonian hypnosis works.
I have read the entire document and I have followed a great many of the footnotes and references included in the PDF as well. Google was also my friend.
Although the author is way more than a little passionate about what he thinks about Obama and his alleged use of these techniques, he goes on to back it up with known science and thorough in context analysis accompanied by copious footnotes and references to published works on the subjects.
The techniques he claims Obama is using are identified, explained and demonstrated in detailed context. They are accepted by the experts in the field as especially powerful and effective among the young, but also among many who do a lot of reading. (think students, journalists, academicians...)
He also shows why this is much more effective in long speeches than it is in debates, short conversations or town hall situations. 30 minute CBS final TV campaign time slot, anyone? Spotting these techniques in use during his show might even make a good drinking game... ;-)
The author seems to make a disturbingly solid case that Obama is not just a charismatic orator, not even just a dabbler in these methods, but an accomplished practitioner of the art of covert / conversational / Eriksonian hypnosis.
As the media guru Marshall McLuhan is reported to have said, Only the small secrets need to be protected. The big ones are kept secret by public incredulity.
bookmark for later. sounds like bologna though.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOkaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy, that was almost too easy. I searched ‘NLP Obama’ and the first site was a company selling NLP training and the rep was analyzing Obama’s use of NLP. In other words the website sells the training and cites Obama’s effective victory speech to illustrate NLP techniques. I’ll paste an excerpt and put the URL link after the quote:
“Barack Obama’s victory speech after the Iowa Caucus election contains quite a bit of powerful linguistic language patterns.
Snip
“You know, they said this day would never come. They said our sights were set too high. They said this country was too divided, too disillusioned to ever come together around a common purpose.”
The ‘you know’ does not address anybody specifically, but it causes us to go inside and feel addressed. Inside of us, we have to simply agree. Then, the “They” part, unspecified, builds a frame - us versus them, but since he speaks to supporters, well, he captures their emotions, their committments and connection to him.
In his speech, he builds a lot of pictures, such as when he says that “you have done what the state of New Hampshire can do in five days. You have done what America can do in this new year, 2008. In lines that stretched around schools and churches, in small towns and in big cities, you came together as Democrats, Republicans and independents, to stand up and say that we are one nation. We are one people. And our time for change has come.”
We all can see these lines and queues in our head now, can we not? Also, he starts with future pacing, putting people into the future, making them realise that in 2008, there will be change.”
