ABC's Sam Donaldson has validated Joe the Plumber's worst fears: socialism has indeed washed over capitalism.
Maybe worse, Donaldson is clearly less unhappy about this than our new campaign spokesman from Ohio.
Such appeared to be the case when the former White House correspondent published a rather ominous commentary at ABCNews.com Tuesday both in written and video form (emphasis added, h/t Extreme Mortman via Glenn Reynolds):

Sam just thinks he will get more for his wool subsidies. He runs a ranch in New Mexico and receives wool subsidies from the Civil War era when uniforms were made of wool. He was nailed on this years ago and said it was his money and he would not give it back.

Donaldson is a moron. Don’t believe his crap. The CRA crap with Fannie & Freddie was socialism and it caused this mess. It is really “crony socialism” or “klepto socialsm” where the socialists steam adn let their corrupt freinds steal from the public.
High energy prices due to the Dems also hurt the economy. The country was in pretty good shape in 2006 before the Dems took control of Congress. Their socialism screwed things up.

There’s a place in Marxist theology for these kinds of people. According to the gospel of the socialists, the workers will be unable to finance the revolution - they’re oppressed as hell, remember, and the bosses have confiscated all their wealth - so some of the wealthy bourgeoise will change sides and give the revolution money and materials needed to overthrow the corrupt capitalist oligarchs.
Lenin had a cute term for these wealthy supporters of the revolution. He called them “useful idiots.”
They are useful because their efforts will help bring about the revolution. They’re idiots because once the revolution has been brought about, they’ll be the first ones to be lined up and shot.
Learning that term when I was a sophomore in college was one of the reasons I moved away from my leftist upbringing. I could instantly understand in the term “useful idiot” just how cold-blooded the left really was. And here I am at a forum like this, 30 years later.
