Was this before David rejected Communism or was he still a fellow traveler at that time? He really knows what he is talking about in his recent articles!
According to Wikipedia, Mr. Horowitz began to re-think marxism in the mid-eighties, and finally wrote a book condemning it in 1996 (”Radical Son: A Generational Odyssey”). The article in my previous post was written in 2001 and he talks about interviewing Ayers 10 years earlier, but on Sean Hannity’s show last night, he said that the Rolling Stone article was written in 1999. Therefore, he might have done the interviews in 1991 before his book came out in 96, and then the RS article in 99. He was in the big middle of all of it himself until he rejected it all, so he really knows whereof he speaks! Also, he was brought up to be a communist, since both his parents were card-carrying members. So he had a real working knowledge of all that went on in the 60s and 70s. The Wikipedia article on him is extensive and has numerous footnotes.
