However, I don't think some of the criticisms of Palin can be easily dismissed. It was a serious mistake to pick Palin to be VP at this stage of her career IMO.

She is more qualified to be president than Obama.

You are doing nothing more than repeating the tired old cynicism of people who consider themselves important based on their own narcissim.

People like Noonan, Kristol, Krauthammer and the whole lot of them are the problem. They are the chattering side of a political establishment wholly given to everything that is wrong with this nation.

The problem you have with Palin and "this stage of her career" is that you have not had a chance to corrupt her principles with your Washington myasma. Had you and your idols in the media been in her shoes, you never would have taken on the corrupt republican establishment in Alaska. You would have simply looked the other way and waited so long for the problem to go away that you became indistinguishable from it.

Your kind squandered a republican majority after just 12 years because you are no different from the hopelessly corrupt democratic party when it comes time to step up and do something unpopular. You believe courage is doing what everyone praises as courage.

The people who think the highest of themselves are the lowest in the world.

I don't disagree. Obama is totally unqualified IMO. Ideally , the GOP should be offering candidates that are much more experienced than Obama, not barely, as is the case with Palin

People like Noonan, Kristol, Krauthammer and the whole lot of them are the problem.

I agree with you that Kristol is a problem. No one pushed harder to put Palin on the McCain ticket than Kristol. Without Kristol's support Palin probably would not have been selected.

The problem you have with Palin and "this stage of her career" is that you have not had a chance to corrupt her principles with your Washington myasma. My "Washington myasma" !?!

What makes you think I think support the Washington media or political establishment? Just because I made remarks critical of Palin? Take note that I expressed support for Romney, Pawlenty and Jindal. They are all present or former governors without Washington experience. I don't dislike Palin. I just don't think she would be as capable as Romney, Pawlenty, Jindal. I think those three, among others, would destroy Palin in a series of debates.

The author tries too hard to come up with something clever that nobody else has written about, to explain what’s wrong with the people mentioned. They aren’t doing a good job as conservatives, but I don’t think many will believe it’s because they want to be “cool” or are part of the homecoming court.

It just reads as nonsense.

As the wise man said, “I don’t care who y’are, now that’s funny right there!”

"vulgar is cool"

Indeed, when the pundits have turned their backs on the very people who made their careers we are well reminded

-- we didn't change, they did.

I'd like to respectfully suggest that we not link to Noonan in particular, and avoid giving her articles hits in the future. I've had it with her twittering condescension.

She reminds me of that teacher at Hogwarts--the kook who taught Divination.

"It is nothing short of stunning this election year to read and listen to some of our most noted national conservatives demonstrate no practical understanding of conservative America. It would serve Peggy Noonan, Charles Krauthammer, Fred Barnes, Kathleen Parker, and Bill Kristol well to shirk cocktail parties and mid-town lunches with the broadcast and publishing hierarchy in Manhattan and D.C. and travel like a presidential candidate for a time. Potluck dinners, small-town festivals, state fairs, church picnics and bowling alleys would be great places to start. Shake some hands. Converse with people. Were they to dare attempt such a journey, it is without question our conservative "All Stars" would find far more Sarah Palins and far fewer Peggy Noonans. A fact, one might suspect, embarrasses them to their core."

Great suggestion. But she'll still need a leading man from the A list to read
her aetherial speeches.

During the whole Katie-Sarah pothole, I had a liberal jeering at me for what Kathleen Parker had to say. Now I have gotten the same thing about turncoat Noonan.

Peggy, you're out. You exposed a loyal reader to ridicule because I had used you as an example of a conservative writer. Enjoy that.

And know I won't forget it.

I'm going to try to arrange a nice little boycott.

.

“Same with men”

True -

But Peggy Noonan seems to be getting into the Colin Hussein Powell and Alan Greenspan-Mitchell “say anything to sell your new book” scenario

I believe Governor Sarah Palin’s Saturday Night Live appearance set a new viewer record for the highest in 14 years in 1994

Fox News Channel reported that 15-17 million people tuned in and watch Sarah Palin -

This must have Team Obama and the MSM and pollsters worried bigtime

Northeastern and other pseudo-intellectuals, though some may have come from small-town middle America themselves, simply have lost touch with the simple wisdom of ordinary people.

Anyone with intelligence, curiosity and determination can learn facts. Some have so many floating around in their heads that they are almost useless, except for commenting on the intellect, or lack thereof, of those with whom they disagree.

They bare more of their own inadequacies by their criticisms than they reveal weaknesses in those they denigrate.

The condescension toward Palin that Noonan and others are displaying is without reason.

[Saturday Night Live appearance set a new viewer record for the highest in 14 years]

That’s good news. Would like to see “Tiny Fray’s” face when she unravels.

[“Same with men” True -]

Very true, there are more ‘talking heads’ men out there with books to sell whose A train has passed them by.
