"I deeply resent the support the "fundamentalist" Black churches have given, not to economic liberalism and affirmative action, but to positions contrary to the Bible all these preachers piously thump."
If that is what you feel, it is what you should have said in the first place. We have wonderful black FReepers on this site who do more than you can imagine to forward our conservative cause. Garbage like your first post is a slap in their faces & will be juicy fodder for some DUmmie to go spreading around to make us look like a bunch of white supremacists. You embarrassed yourself and all of us in the process.
If you will go back and read that "horrible" first post of mine, you will notice that I said not one single solitary word about "socialism," "welfare," "affirmative action," or any other such thing but specifically abortion, homosexuality, and evolution.
I am probably one of the least social Darwinistic members on this forum. Unlike many conservatives, I don't lie awake at night because poor people are receiving government help rather than dying and "reducing the surplus population." I'm not even against affirmative action in its original form (for Blacks because of their unique history, not for homosexuals or anyone who steps off the boat from anywhere else). In fact, I have often observed that there are too many economists among Black conservatives and not enough religionists.
Furthermore, while many FReepers are calling for a "new conservative party" I (probably alone) think that what we really need is a new liberal--even socialist--party, in which all the positions are economic and the radical social causes of our day are nonexistent. That way we could spend centuries arguing about economics, affirmative action, welfare, slavery reparations, etc., and never hear about "gay rights" or abortion! Unfortunately, there are many conservatives who enjoy the absolute monopoly on traditional morality now held by advocates of Randian laissez faire. But I am not one of them.
My anger at the organized Black community is its utter refusal to repudiate the moral abominations now attached like parasites to liberalism. And for this they have no excuse. They can't claim "what're you gonna do?" because the Black vote is essential enough to the Democrat party that they have it in their power to cast out gay rights and abortion from the liberal platform. Not only do they not do this, but they even have begun to endorse these immoral positions! As I stated earlier, I have no doubt whatsoever that white America is reaping what it sowed. However, one day Black America will do likewise. And there is no doubt that Blacks, including the "religious leaders" among them, have marched side by side with the forces of G-dlessness and immorality for a long time when they had it in their power to toss them out of the coalition. Black America will one day reap the whirlwind just as white America has done.
Please do not lecture me about Black FReepers. I'm grateful for each and every one of them, though I wish there was more stress on morality than on economics. I am not some "palaeocon" refugee from the KKK who needs to be rebuked by you; I have been an adamant foe of racism and anti-Semitism in the conservative movement. It's just too bad that there are no voices among Black liberals (including Baptist preachers) who stand against homosexuality and abortion.
