So true and so sad. Part of my job is to track quality of care issues in the hospital where I work. Sad to say I would not want to be a patient in my hospital. Doctors complain, patients complain, families complain but nothing improves. I don't know how so many people in a nurturing profession can be so cold and heartless. That said, there are some outstanding people in the field but they are no longer the majority.
I’m sorry to hear that.
On the other hand, may I take a moment to plug a hospital that isn’t like that? Arlington Memorial Hospital in Arlington, Texas has a wonderful, caring, and expert staff of doctors, nurses, and their associates, and I would recommend them to anyone. We have had several ER visits, an operation, and a baby there and came away more than satisfied each time. It’s a great hospital.
NOTE: I do not work for Arlington Memorial, nor am I associated with them in any way. I just wanted to give credit to those who deserve it.
I suspect that those who track nurses on the job are part of the problem.
I haven’t met a nurse in a long time who didn’t seem depressed or was on antidepressants, or left nursing.
Too much emphasis on beign busy every minute on things unrelated to patient care.
Not saying that there aren’t some bad people in the profession, but most just feel bad about nursing.
