“And, what is wrong with the economy is that one party (democrats) participated in destroying the credit markeet and the mortgage market.”

So this is supposed to make me cheery about the economy ... or is it that even though it sucks, the republicans didn’t do it so don’t pay attention? Somehow it is just not comforting to know that stock portfolios are screwed because X did it instead of Y.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

What is most frightening about the current market-economy is that our political leaders have not clearly identified the cause. Have you noticed that Chis Dodd, the chairman of the Banking committee calls it a “foreclosure crisis”?

You seemed to indicate that somehow a dinner detracted from correcting our massive problems. Correcting our massive problems will require the government to stop requiring/facilitating banks to give mortgages to illegal aliens (governor of wisconsin) and other people who cannot-will not be able to pay them.

If you want to graduate from just dumb blonde status, make judgements about root causes and what the real corrections are rather than just stamping your foot and saying a pox on both their houses.

The root cause is the government, plain and simple, both sides. Democrats pushing loans that should not have been made, Bush administration policies contributing to the falling dollar and a bunch of things that I don't understand.

I got that, thank you. What I didn't like was a bunch of these goons in tuxes laughing about it. You may disagree, and it ain't no skin off my nose. Politics has become a game, a charade, a chest-beating contest and the taxpaying citizens pay the price.

I would replace your “identified” with “told us”. Very frightening indeed.

But - no need to worry, this bailout has solved the problem and we are already seeing gains in the stock market because of their heroic efforts. /s
