There Has Been No General’s Instruction for Last Two Months [2008-10-13 18:57 ] A source from Pyongyang reported on Friday that the General’s Instruction, which means Kim Jong Il’s direct instruction given in lectures for members of organizations or the People’s Units, has not been delivered for the last two months. The source who came to Shinuiju on the 9th said in a telephone interview with the Daily NK that, “The rumor that the General’s health condition is bad is circulating now among Pyongyang residents.” He expressed the atmosphere of Pyongyang, saying that, “General workers say these days say, ‘What’s happened [to the General]?,’ or ‘He is probably sick,’ because the general’s instructions, which used to be delivered to the people at least every two weeks, has not come out for about two months.” He said that the General’s Instruction has not been announced since late August. According to him, there had not been cases in which the instructions did not appear in the residents’ lectures for almost two months except when Kim Jong Il has visited China or Russia. The source said that, “Cadres of the Party say that the General had heart surgery last year and brain surgery in 1995 due to fatigue. He could have not appeared at the event on September 9th but will stand on his feet soon. There is no one who does not know his is sick because even the cadres say so.”
