Seven months after Sean and Erik Ibarra received a 1.7 million dollar settlement from the Harris County Sheriff's Department, they are filing another lawsuit.
This time it is against their own attorney, Lloyd Kelley.
The Ibarras' new attorney, Randy Sorrels, says "They felt they were victims of Harris County at one time. Now they felt they are victims of their own lawyer."
The Ibarra brothers are accusing Kelley of over charging them in a civil rights case against Harris County. Kelley helped the Ibarras sue the sheriff's department for mistreating them during a drug raid at a neighbor's house.
According to Sorrels, the brothers say they thought they owed their lawyer just over $82,000, but they recently discovered that Kelley wants an additional $122,539.26 in expenses.
Sorrels says, "Mr. Kelley, we believe, up-ed the expenses to enrich himself at the expense of the Ibarras."
More specifically, Sorrels questions consultation fees totaling $95,000 to a lawyer named Tammy Tran and a $20,000 to Quannel X, the civil rights activist who became the Ibarra's champion during rallies held in front of the criminal court house.
Lloyd Kelley says, "I didn't pay Quannel to do a rally. I paid him for consulting, and I paid him to publicize the case. I paid him to look at my case and strategize."
Kelley says Quannel X and Tammy Tran were both critical players in the Ibarra's lawsuit, and that he is disappointed in the Ibarra brothers.
"Don't lock arms with me all summer long and go out there and pretend to be Quannel's buddy and stab him in the back," Kelley says.
According to Kelley, his contract with the Ibarras states if the brothers disagree with a charge they need to dispute it in writing.
Kelley says he would have probably waived the fees in question.
Kelley says the Ibarras never contacted him about the charge before they hired Sorrels.
"Now that he wants to fight me fight's on."

Disgusting social parasites attempting to feed on other disgusting social parasites.
I never feel anything but warm satisfaction when I hear of one filthy shyster suing another for malpractice. May they consume themselves in an ouroboros of rapacious greed.
When a physician loses a case its due to malpractice and the family goes and finds a shyster lawyer to sue the doctor. Why is it when a lawyer loses a case its not considered malpractice or incompetence? I see a different standard from the law profession.
Well, I suppose that would be because in a legal case someone always HAS to lose. It's unavoidable. You've also got to consider that a lawyer is working with jurors who are sometimes irrational. Add to that the fact that most of the "good" cases are settled out of court. The iffy cases tend to go to trial.
It'd be rather like suing an oncologist every time he lost a patient. Sometimes there just isn't a lot that they can do, but they give it a shot anyway.
The activist got $20000 to provide a protest outside the court. What a country!
They got out cheap, now the greed kicks in and OBama will save them.
So what do you expect when you bribe to a race baiter like Mr. X here to whip up a media furor on your behalf? I hope they lose every penny of their judgment.
Is there anything more netertaining then lawyers suing lawyers??
Could be the next fake reality TV show........
Well, folks. You normally never get to see this in written but you just saw how ‘civil rights activists’ get paid. A trial lawyers who got a seven figure settlement from some victims are bad policing pays off a race-baiting poverty-pimp $20,000 to go out and hold press conferences and rallies decrying racism and demanding that the police be punished.
Quannel X got himself $20,000 for basically being a publicist. Less generous language would describe him as being a rabblerouser, an agitator or a hustler. But you never get to see the line item on any invoice where the hustlers get paid. You never see the place where Jesse Jackson makes his money. You never see an invoice from Al Sharpton.
This is a brief glimpse into the world which is racial prostitution at the expense of taxpayers (it can be Mistubishi, GM or Exxon otherwise).
The fact that Quannel got paid 20k to “stir the pot” for these clowns is the most interesting part of this story.
The question is whether the media will finally see through this guy for what he is and quit paying attention to his protests.
