In January of 2002, he traveled as a journalist to Cuba as part of an official visit by U.S. Senator Arlen Specter where he interviewed and dined with Fidel Castro.

Q: You’re a pretty conservative guy for this area.

A: I’m not that conservative.

Michael Smerconish is thinking of voting for Obama. The Philly talk radio host let it be known while subbing for Dan Abrams on tonight’s “Verdict” on MSNBC

He actually did so, chatting with Ron Reagan, while criticizing Obama’s flip-flops.

“Ron, I voted for the first time in 1980 for your dad. I have never voted for a Democrat for president. I voted for plenty of Democrats, but never for president. I’ve not ruled it out in this cycle, because I like this guy.”

I was in junior high with my wife. I moved after the 9th grade, but my wife stayed in the same town. Anyway, Smerconish was a year ahead of us and although it was quite a while ago now, I remember him as being the class jerk. Same with high school according to my wife. Central Bucks East High School, Holicong, PA!!! :-)

He also fills in for O’Reilly on the Radio Factor.

I used to listen to him years ago and it was apparent that he was an opportunist.

Michael Smerconish is for himself.

What an ego.

Gaydar Alert!

Au contraire. He's married to the smart and lovely Lavinia Smerconish.

Look. It’s one thing to disagree with someone politically. It’s another thing to say, “You’re gay!” just because someone disagrees with you politically. That kind of below-the-belt crap belongs on DU or in the middle school playground.

Just sayin’.

After the election I predict most 0bama supporters will go back to BET, MTV, video games and the like.

Exactly right.

I live way out of any town in the countryside of PA, and I'm surprised to see some Obama lawn signs here. I get an instant opinion of those people as uninformed morons who have been brainwashed.

you need to send an e-mail to WPHT and Glenn Beck stating how displeased you are. Tell the station you are not going to listen to any of their programming any more . That should sting a little. It is probably more effective then trying to get into an argument with an idiot by sending smerconish e-mails.

I’ll do that, but I’ll be interested to see what happens to Smerconish’s ratings. Also, he must really be naive if he thinks Barak Obama is going to get bin Laden when George Bush couldn’t.
