Democrats Attack Joe the Plumber (Rush Limbaugh)
Rush ^ | 101608 | Rush

Posted on 10/17/2008 11:49:38 AM PDT by Fred

RUSH: Joe the plumber. Joe the plumber has become the star of this election right now. Joe the plumber was on Katie Couric, he was on Good Morning America today. He had a press conference outside his home in Ohio today and the Drive-Bys are dumping all over Joe the plumber. They're calling him a racist. You know why they're calling him a racist? Because he said Obama talks as smoothly as Sammy Davis, Jr., could tap dance or something like that. Oh, racist comment from Joe the plumber! Biden is out there saying, "I don't know any plumbers that earn $250,000 in my neighborhood." Well, that's because Biden lives in a neighborhood where no plumbers live, details on that coming up in just a second. By the way, Joe the plumber, you better get ready because the Obama thugs are coming after you, pal, and they're going to try to destroy you. They're out there saying Joe the plumber doesn't even make $250,000 a year. There's that magic number again, by the way. Joe the plumber doesn't even make $250,000 a year, he's not going to get a tax. That's not what Joe the plumber said. Joe the plumber said he wants to buy a plumbing business that will put him in that tax bracket. We've got all kinds of Joe the plumber sound bites to share with you.

But there's nothing to spread around here. Obama wants to spread the wealth. There's nothing to spread. If he starts taxing wealth, what's left of wealth right now, as he's promising to do, there will be literally nothing to spread around. The Democrats have destroyed the markets. The economy needs to be rebuilt, not reorganized for socialism. The economy, quite simply, needs to be rebuilt. McCain has one challenge from now until the election, because, folks, this is about the economy. I've got a piece here. It's a very scholarly piece, it's one of these pieces filled with gobbledygook, but I, El Rushbo, am able to make the complex understandable and I'm able to synthesize six pages here into three sentences and I'm not going to bother reading you the three sentences. I went nuts reading it, I went nuts reading these pages but I stuck to it because I figured the last three sentences will tell me what I need to know with this whole thing anyway, it's usually the case. Basically it was a study of electorates in this country and other democracies, going back to the Great Depression, studying voting habits by the entire electorate and the economy. Whenever the economy was heading down, either into recession or when it was in depression at one time, and anywhere around the world when the economy was heading down, it didn't matter, nothing else mattered.

Whoever was in power got blamed for it and tossed out, pure and simple. As long as the economy stayed good under the new group, the new group was voted in, over and over again. When the economy goes south, bam, people get rid -- that's it. Especially when it happens prior to an election as this one mysteriously has, as this one just so coincidentally has. So McCain has one challenge, and that challenge is to tie this economy to the Democrat Party and Barack Obama, because you can do it, it can be done because that's the truth. This economy is faltering right now because of the subprime mortgage mess. It is faltering because all of the fallout that happened after giving people mortgages that had no business being given mortgages, never were able to pay 'em back, and the pressure brought to bear by the Democrats on making those loans, forcing banks to make them and when the banks had worthless paper, they forced the banks, the bank said we're going to have to package these and sell them as derivatives, securities, and this kind of thing. The depth that kept mounting up on no value, kept mounting up and mounting up, finally it just imploded and you can tag names, you can tag Pelosi to this, you can tag Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Jamie Gorelick, Franklin Raines, Barack Obama, ACORN, Jeremiah Wright, and Bill Ayers.

All of this that has happened in the housing market is exactly the result of plans put into place by liberal Democrats starting back with Jimmy Carter but really intensified in the Clinton years. This is a Democrat economic failure, and I keep saying this, but the evidence is clear in one way if not many. If there were a Republican to blame this on, he would be sitting before congressional committees six weeks ago. But the way it's working out, the Republicans are deemed to be responsible because the Republicans have the White House, George W. Bush. The task is going to be to convince the American people that their economy is gone south because the Democrat Party was able to run things unchecked and they were able to stonewall reform efforts, and the very people that brought us the disaster have designed the fix, which is gonna make it even worse, and they are still in power with the ability to do even more, and now they have nominated somebody who is of their way of thinking who's going to get into the White House if he's elected. He's already planning his big election night party in some big, big park in Chicago.

In Ireland, you know these online betting sites where you can wager who's going to win? We have online stock market for presidential candidates. In Ireland, one of these websites has already started paying off on Obama's victory with 20 days to go. Now, Joe the plumber is out there, and it's fascinating because Joe the plumber hasn't said who he's going to vote for but it seems pretty obvious to me, but the Democrat Party and the Obama thugs are setting out to destroy a middle American Ohio resident who simply wants to keep what he earns. He wants to grow his business and he wants to hire more people.

We’re losing.

The MSM has made this about Joe and we’ve bitten. Joe might be a great guy the but issue needs to be about Obama intending to take money from working Americans and “spread it around a little.”

Don’t defend Joe. Attack Obama. Heck, Joe’s figured it out, why can’t we?

0bama’s condescension is sickening. McCain and Palin must keep hitting on this. 0bama asked derisively how many plumbers do you know make $250K. There must be some who do. All I know is I paid almost $400 to Roto Rooter a few months ago just to unclog a sink! I think some of these guys must do pretty well.

Just a tiny bit. Sarah is a good example of what I mean.

She's genuine, but not a rank amateur at public speaking.

If you can't refute the argument, attack the messenger. Obama can't refute the argument, so he goes after Joe W.

Joe's message is right on target. Obama is a socialist.

Joe works hard and earns money. Obama takes Joe's money via taxes. Obama gives Joe's money to the people who don't work and don't earn. Obama uses Joe's money to pander for votes.

We need to hammer this message home.

I think you have it backwards, Obama (and the MSM) have taken the bait.

This is Palin Deragement Syndrome all over again, only this time they are going after a private citizen.

PDS backfired bigtime, and JTPDS will backfire even bigger. What did the guy do? He asked Obama a legit question. That’s it, and for that he is getting his life turned upside down. The press/Dems are investigating his life as though it should be front page news, and for what? Asking a question?

American’s aren’t going to like that.

As long as JTP stays in the news, Obama’s “spreading the wealth” comment stays in the news also. That’s what the Dems don’t understand, but they’ll attack JTP just like they did Palin because that’s just what they do. They can’t help themselves.

$400 to unclog a sink? I replaced my entire sink drain line (It was old glavanized pipe wiithout enough pitch) for less than that.
