Do you carry osetra? My sister bought a couple of ounces as a gift for a relative. Excellent flavour, fine caviar of course, but I know she got bloody skinned on the price.

And the really really said part is that, after she eats all this expensive rich people food — which she didn’t earn — she’ll still feel like she doesn’t fit in, and it will be all whitey’s fault. I’m feeling guilty about that already.

While they are in lockstep on many issues, apparently America's Unhappiest Millionaire hasn't discussed the evils of cholesterol with Julianne Malveaux. Remember Malveux's diet advice for Justice Clarence Thomas:

"The man is on the Court. You know, I hope his wife feeds him lots of eggs and butter and he dies early like many black men do, of heart disease. Well, that’s how I feel. He is an absolutely reprehensible person."

How can anyone possibly doubt that these tolerant people want nothing but the best for all Americans? Seems to me that universal healthcare and income redistribution in the hands of people like this would be a good thing. Well, either that or off to the camps...

LOL, I have never even tried caviar...

My most expensive meal of my life was in college... I wrote a bad check at McDonalds for a big mac, Dr. Pepper, and fries cost me about 35 bucks... way back in the 80's...

I just linked a wholesaler for those that wanted to get an idea of how expensive this Iranian caviar was...

I will stick to my Big Macs thanks...

What the heck is Iranian caviar? Is that something special as opposed to American caviar?

Back home we call it 'bait.'

I think the real question (and telling answer) here is: did they pay for the meal out of their own earnings as Senator and lawyer, or did they charge it off to the campaign (i.e. other people’s money)?

/only semi-sarc

Yes, and my question is who was with her? If hubby was at a meeting, who was she dining with? Also, I’m guessing it came from campaign money. I don’t think she would spend her own money when the people from the Goodwill have sent the campaign so much money! This is just a preview of things to come if these two questionable characters get into our Whitehouse.

It seems unlikely that caviar could play a pivotal role in an election, but it has happened before.

In North Carolina in 1932, in the midst of the Great Depression, incumbent Senator Cameron Morrison was defeated in the Democratic Senatorial primary (then tantamount to election) by populist Bob Reynolds, who had gotten wind of the fact that Morrison was known to serve caviar at his parties.

This blog from the [Raleigh] News & Observer recounts the story:

The memorable overachiever was two-term Sen. Robert Reynolds (1932-1944) who won election saying that the sitting senator, Cameron Morrison, a Charlotte plutocrat, ate fish eggs and red Russian fish eggs at that, and wasn't it time to elect a senator who didn't mind eating regular old North Carolina hen eggs.

"Red Russian fish eggs! Well, good old North Carolina hen eggs are good enough for Bob Reynolds!"

I have had mixed opinions on whether this is a deal breaker or not. However, I have asked my friends to ask their democrat friends to try to reconcile this behavior with the idea that the obamas are champions of the poor, starving and underprivileged. Their answers would be interesting.

I would just like to know what Michelle’s preferences on caviar are. Does she prefer Iranian caviar or was it just the best thing on the menu? It would be interesting to for someone to ask her or her husband if they could elaborate on the merits of the various caviars throughout the world.
