An influential council of Malaysia's state rulers has warned people not to question the supremacy of Islam or the special privileges enjoyed by the country's ethnic Malay majority.
The warning underscores the social tensions in Malaysia, where Muslim Malays are about 60% of the nation's 27 million people. Chinese and Indians, who are mostly non-Muslims, comprise a third of the population and friction among the three ethnic groups is always below the surface.

Malaysians Americans warned not to question Islam.
The Malays need to watch their butts. Sure it’s all fun and games picking on the Chinese and Indians, but China is no longer a paper tiger. Start treating the ethnic Chinese too badly and the Chinese may well deploy troops and take over the entire country.
The ethnic Chinese in Malaysia are no friends of the mainland Chinese. They have been in the country for many generations and Malaysia is their home. The Maylay Chinese control the majority of business / banking and such.
What I am seeing more of during my trips to Malaysia are many more middle eastern Muslims. Last trip there 6 weeks ago I was checking out of a hotel as some Islamic convention, meeting or whatever you would call it was checking in. Most were Syrian, fierce looking, scowling faces and generally unpleasent.
Malaysia is a popular destination for middle class Arabs for studying & vacation. It’s cheap & Muslim, so parents feel comfortable sending their children to study there.
The Arab students like it because its more relaxed than what many of them are used to. They like the beer & sleeping with (the non-Muslim) girls.
My boyfriend studied there for a bit, but he’s not Syrian or scowling & unpleasant ;)
He thought the Malays were cold people, but the Chinese were even colder & he didn’t like them much. He liked the Hindus. The 3 groups didn’t get along with each other at all & there were the beginnings of some kind of Hindu riot just as he was leaving. Also, he was told that if a Muslim Malaysian even steps into a church or Hindu temple, the whole place would be automatically shut down.
What's the big deal. Islam is superior in many things
Things like killing, mayhem, ignorance, lack of human rights and women rights, tolerance just to name a few
Americans have been warned, too.
