Gallup: Obama 49 percent, McCain 47

Phoenix Business Journal

A new Gallup Poll of likely voters has Democrat Barack Obama with a 49 percent to 47 percent lead over Arizona Sen. John McCain.

That puts McCain closer in the presidential race than other polls, which have Obama with leads of between 3 and 14 percentage points, according to Real Clear Politics.

McCain has sought in recent days to sharpen his economic message and questioning Obama’s ties to 1960s radical Bill Ayers. The Gallup poll was conducted among 2,100 likely voters.

Pray and Work for it. 10 up or 10 down the polls should not guide us. Forget the Polls!

We can win this , but every Republican office , in every state, needs volunteers to make calls , take walks, make signs , and poll watch . Money helps too ...

B.O. has a strong ground game and we need to match it and out-pace it ,
let’s win this thing !

Yes, this is all about turnout. If we get the same turnout percentages as in 2004 (approx 36% Repubs and 36% Dems), then McCain/Palin wins!

Most Americans realized last night, for the first time, that Obama will raise their taxes.

“Just checked CNN they are running a story that Mccain is 8 pts down and not likely to move up.”

CNN Lies twice:

“a mid-October deficit that only one presidential hopeful has overcome to win the White House in the last 50 years. Watch more on CNN’s latest polls »

In the 1980 presidential election, former California Gov. Ronald Reagan trailed President Jimmy Carter by 8 points in a late October Gallup poll. A mere 10 days after that survey was conducted, Reagan defeated the incumbent president by nearly 3 percentage points, sealing one of the biggest turnarounds in the history of American presidential politics.

But if 2008 is at all like 1980, it’s Obama who is Ronald Reagan, not McCain.”

Lie #1: Reagan did not beat Carte by 3%. He Defeated Carter by 10% (51% - 41% with 6% to John Anderson) and Reagan wion 44 States.

Lie #2: Barack Obama is not like Ronald Reagan!

They showed Obama as being almost certain to win 277 votes today. It showed Virginia as solidly blue which makes me want to vomit.

McCain needs to regain ground in the suburbs where he was strong before.

Did I read the article? Yes. Twice. It still doesn’t say nationwide or AZ. Since it is from an Arizona publication, I can’t be sure.

Gallup: Obama 49 percent, McCain 47

They'll show McCain ahead soon. The pollsters need some credibility for the next election.

We need to save these polls for the next election. Just in case someone forgets how bias the polls were this year.
Maybe Chet will volunteer for “Keeper of the Polls” What do think chet?
