Sen. Obama: Barriers `sad, symbols of fear"

(Sen. Barack Obama (D-13th) said Monday) ... "I think that is the saddest situation and after effect of the Sept. 11 tragedy other than the obvious loss of lives and families.

(snip)

"We should also examine the foreign policies of the the U.S. to make sure that we occupy the moral high ground in these conflicts. In particularly, we have to examine some of the root causes of this terrorist activity," Obama said, referring to terrorist leader Osama bin Laden and his "sleeper" cells throughout the world.

(snip)

"It's absolutely critical that the U.S. is engaged in policies and strategies that will give those young people and these countries hope and make it in their self-interest to participate and create modern, open societies like we have in the U.S.

Nota bene: The fact that, just days after the terrible attacks on U.S. soil of September 11, 2001, and while the rest of the country was united in our grief, he was publicly suggesting that the root cause of the attacks was the moral failings of the U.S., speaks volumes about who is the real Barack Obama.

One of the root causes is people who enable terrorists by offering to talk with them.

How about we simplify -— First they attack and then they kill us, we kill them. Moral high ground achieved. Says so in the UN charter.

In particularly, we have to examine some of the root causes of this terrorist activity

Root cause: Islam, specifically radical Islam.

Secondary cause: Saudi and Iranian money from their oil revenue.

Tertiary cause: lack of US domestic oil production.

Cure: Greater domestic production, especially oil, natural gas and nuclear.

Well, the "root cause" (if you believe it) of 9/11 was the presence of U.S. troops in Saudi Arabia, there to protect the oil fields against Saddam's army. We can, of course, ignore our strategic obligations in the hope of not offending homicidal nut cases but it's hardly something to hand one's foreign policy hat on.

Nevertheless, the die is cast for MSM excuse-making for the inadequacies of their candidate - if it happened, U.S. foreign policy is to blame, and hence George W. Bush even if it happened on the Clinton watch. It's a posture already past its sell-by date but they'll keep using it as long as there are people credulous to buy it. Given the credulity of the average Obama acolyte that might be decades.

9/11 was our fault, according to Obama. He intends to extend the hand of friendship to Muslims/Arabs, Jihadists, who are in his tiny little mind the aggrieved parties. He’s not crazy, he’s a Muslim Marxist; and if elected, he’ll do his best to destroy this country.

create modern, open societies like we have in the U.S.

"Open society" is a buzz phrase used by the Soros organization.

Considering what the mood of the country was in those first weeks after 9/11, anyone who was talking about America being at fault then was really on the far outside fringe. The fact that Obama said this to me indicates beyond any doubt that he is coming from the far, far left.
