The BOOM is a result of the dollar bubble bursting. Paper and ink can’t compare to something of intrinsic value. The properties of the metals themselves are what make them valuable. Paper is still paper in the end, when it doesn’t represent anything other than goodwill on the part of a bank.

Paper is still paper in the end, when it doesnt represent anything other than goodwill on the part of a bank.The great thing about fiat money is that you don't have to hold it. Just exchange the dollars for precious metals, equities, treasuries, Swiss francs or anything else you think is a better store of value. Money facilitates financial liquidity. That's all.
