Joe the Plumber said Thursday he doesn't have a license and doesn't need one. Joe Wurzelbacher, better known as Joe the Plumber, the nickname Republican John McCain bestowed on him during Wednesday's presidential debate, said he works for a small plumbing company that does residential work. Because he works for someone else, he doesn't need a license, he said.

Oh wow, they are going to do a cavity search on this poor guy before it’s over.

Then there is his entire resume that can fit on a 3”X3” Post-it note.

Why the idea of licensed plumber?
Who is the body that would issue such a license?
Ditto for electrician, carpenter, etc.
These are not high knowledge requirement jobs. There’s a certain skill, but a deep risk either.

Exactly...the one who pulls the permits for the job needs to be licensed. Now if he were to do moonlighting and pull your own permits than you would need to be licensed. The only 2 states I know of where you can do business without a license is PA and WVA. Unless of course you want to do government work. Residential contractors in these states don’t need one. Now every state is different but the rules usually apply state to state when it comes to licensed contractors. Again, you pull the permits on the job you need a license.
There are tons of cases where a general contractor (who holds the license) will hire say their relatives or something to help out when needed. If every single person needed a license it would be chaos. I know in Ohio you need to have at least 5years of plumbing experience to even apply for a license.

So Obama’s thugs are attacking a guy for not having a plumbing license. I guess all of us without plumbing licenses will just have to vote for McCain.
I predict Joe the Plumber has provided SNL with their opening skit, unless Fey shows up to do Palin again.
Oh, come to think of it I guess they will do their “Thursday SNL” thing tonight perhaps.

He doesn’t have to be licensed if he’s working for a licensed plumber, that’s how it works there in Ohio. He never said he was a licensed plumber.
AP is a bunch of ignorant elitists. BTW, the plumbers’ union can go flush themselves.
