That's the problem...it sounds good. In practice, it is devastating.

When did it ever sound good?

But then my favorite story as a child was The Little Red Hen where all the other farm animals were more than willing to share the bread even though they never did any of the work.

When confronted by Joe the Plumber, Obama was like a child whose Halloween mask slipped exposing him for who he is (and causing him to run into a tree while he's trying to put it back on.)

Socialism always SOUNDS good because the idea of having everything your need SOUNDS good. The idea that others will have everything they need SOUNDS good. The speed with which the listener can apply common sense to the concept is what divides us. Common sense tells us that most people want to earn what they have and enjoy the journey through the American Dream.
