he word of the day is “temperament.” On PBS, last night after the final presidential debate, David Brooks was celebrating Barack Obama’s reassuring temperament. He told Charlie Rose that Barack Obama is like a mountain. When you go to bed–he’s there. You wake up–he’s there. You go to bed the next night–he’s there. Wake up–he’s there. It’s true: Obama does bear a striking characterological resemblance to a shapeless heap of non-living matter.
Moreover, he’s accomplished about as much as a massive hump of rock.

I think he appeared to be a smug, know-it-all, smart-mouthed, snotty teenage kid. Why is no one talking about his laughing at the voter fraud in the debate?
Abe Greenwald is my hero. This is exactly what I find so irritating about Obama. As Mark Levin said - say what you will about McCain, but even with the cutting and trimming all candidates do, he’s not the preposterous liar Obama is.

The real question for Americans is, do you want Senator Government “there” day and night, in your home, in your office, in your churches, in your radio programming, in your cable news networks, in your gun shops, in your health care provider’s office, in your military policies, in your lending policies, in your fuel policies, in your judicial policies?
This is the first time I will say there is a “there” there, and Senator Government is it.
I took Obama’s calm demeanor to be troubling, he is too smooth that was my impression. And I just heard on Rush that now Joe the Plumber is in trouble because he also thought Obama was smooth. Obama is not a saint, he believes in partial birth abortion, if he is smooth, it’s not a good sign. He’s got discipline alright, but it’s not from doing what’s right. How can anyone be for partial birth abortion and claim to be a Christian. That is fraudulent right there. So the fact that he is “smooth” only adds to it that he is dangerous, because he is clearly wrong and is hiding behind “smooth.” I’m alarmed. I think McCain started the process of unmasking Obama, but you know what? I feel sorry for McCain, because he woke up a little too late. He’s a decent man and it makes me feel bad.

Yes he is, but he is a “rock, he’s always there when you go to bed at night and when you wake up in the morning.” I really hope this isn’t more of making Obama out to be some sort of a Messiah, because I only know of one rock. This is scary!
Over the years I have found that those who use pot have a very even temperament. They tell you that everything is cool and not to get excited. In the meantime if they have been entrusted with something to do that is important they have often neglected to do what they agreed to do but if you complaint they keep an even temperament and assure you that “Everything is cool, man.”
You expressed my sentiments exactly. Yes Senator Government will be everywhere. He will even be there in your bathroom ensuring you use your Al Gore Commode properly.
