The Georgia thing is stupid. When Obama pulled out of Georgia, it demorilized his fickle base. Now, they are just trying to incourage the base to come back so the Georgia defeat isn’t large double digits. It also plays to the national % of victory or loss.

Lee Greenwood singing Proud to be an American now.

I really wish there was a better song than that.

Joe the Plumber is like the ‘Let’s Roll’ guys on 9/11 and, in a more extended way, Sarah Palin in her rising political career. Good-sensed, upright, plain-speaking Americans who carry the best of our country’s values. And take it upon themselves to speak out and act in a time of need. God bless them.

It’s a small nitpick, but it drives me insane: the name of that song is “God Bless The USA” .

They did something different in ELON. They gave all the tickets to the students in ELON and then rest was distributed to the local GOP. I could not get a ticket. Everytime, John McCain or Sarah Palin comes to North Carolina, they go up 1 to 2% in points. It will be interesting to see the college crowd reaction for sarah Palin.

I do believe that John McCain will win North Carolina by 2 to 4%

Barone’s a good analyst of district by district voting patterns.

My guess is that he’s probably refering to the black vote being elevated with Obama on the ticket tightening the race, but I didn’t watch so I wouldn’t know.

I don’t believe Barack wins Georgia though.

We are having the same problem in North Carolina. African Americans account for 20 to 22%. That is the reason North Carolina is tight.

I have considerable respect for Michael Barone (he is a nerd’s nerd when it comes to having a detailed knowledge of the social, political, and demographic characteristics of cities and counties). However, ... McCain/Palin will win Georgia handily - 8-10% margin is my best current guesstimate.

“If we lose this, it will be due to the massive ACORN voter fraud. It’s as simple as that. The voting system in this country is seriously compromised.”

#####

Well someone turned on the lights, and the filthy cockroaches are scurrying around on the kitchen floor.

In other words, at least the ACORN fraud issue is being addressed in the media and by law enforcement. Yes, not NEARLY enough (there should be hundreds of jail terms handed out-something their...ahem...culture should be quite familiar with), but at least it is being acknowledged.

She sounds very comfortable and more relaxed. She has honed that speech and it’s now hers.

Is she wearing boots today? That’s the first time I’ve seen her wear them on the trail. Fits in well in ME.

"We do not apologize for being Americans."

THIS is the Sarah that had us charged up at the convention.

They ought to re-name it, “I’m Clueless Lee Greenwood and I’m trying to write a song that people I don’t undertand will think is patriotic.”

OK, who’s gonna be first with a “Bangor” joke?

Ummmmm, no one, as it's pronounced "Ban Gore". Old Mainers pronounce it correctly as the Welsh city and hymn tune it's named for. (Or as some folks say "Bang Gore." Of course, Tipper already made that joke a few times, eh?)
