The wife and I had to run out this evening but we listened to most of the second half of the debate on the radio in the car after catching the first half on TV.

Obama got flustered a number of times and lapsed back into his stump speech several times. He denied most of the allegations against him concerning Bill Ayers and tried to brush off ACORN.

John McCain was more forceful than I’ve ever seen him in any debate. He stayed on point tonight and he did a lot better than I ever expected him to. He finally confronted Obama about a lot of things that I believe his base expected him to, and I think any objective and honest observer would hand this one to McCain.

Best debate yet, and Thank God they are over...

It doesn't matter. Obama brushes off his marxist associations and he is cool. Obama lies about the Baby Born Alive Act and he is debonair. He bullshits his way through SCOTUS justices and he is suave. The election is over.

Don't believe me? Ask the Fox panel and the Luntz "independent" focus assholes.

My husband listened to part of the debate on radio and the rest on TV and said the difference as to how it came across was remarkable.
I also thought it was rather remarkable that not more people in both Fox’s and CNN’s focus group had yet made up their mind(after this debate) as to who they going to vote for, considering a majority felt Obama won the debate.
To be honest, I thought Obama won on style and his responses to McCain’s attacks, and I understood what Krauthammer was saying. I was yelling at McCain to follow through on a few great points he had so those listening understood those points far more clearly. He missed some opportunities. We here all know McCain’s strength doesn’t lie in debates, especially when faced with a smoothly like Obama. I thought McCain won on passion, truthfulness and sincerity. I think he did the best he could and he gave the base what they were looking for. He had one tough row to hoe tonight.
