“FOX seems very unimpressed.”
“So is Bill Kristol.”
And I can understand why: McCain’s problem is that he doesn’t know how to simplify a commplicated situation to the masses in a few shoret sentences, and as a result he talks in sound bites, rather than substance. The whole Ayers/ACORN dialogue, for example, was a bomb because McCain was unable to explain Obama’s relationship to Ayers/ACORN and why that relationship is a bad thing. The entire exchange was meaningless, unless you already know about the controversy, and if you don’t, then you walked away saying “Obama denied it, but even if true, this is not a big deal.”
McCain threw red meat to the base, but I’m afraid too many undecided indepenedants and swayable Democrats, who don’t follow these issues closely are going to walk away saying “What was he talking about.”
That may be what they need to say. “What’s he talking about?” hopefully enough of them will look it up.
BS.
