The conservative blogs are all atwitter about a bizarre interview allegedly with Michelle Obama on a website called "African Press International."
“My husband was born in Hawaii and adopted by his step father, does that make him unpatriotic," she supposedly said "on a direct telephone to API" the "interview" hypes. It goes on from there.
This morning my inbox is filled with the "WHY ARENT YOU COVERING THIS?" emails on the subject. The answer is: because it doesn't appear to be in any way real.
Obama campaign senior adviser Robert Gibbs says the interview is a complete and utter fabrication. "It's bogus, she didn't call, it's all a lie," he says.
And I have to say -- I find their pushback quite believable. The Obama campaign does not tend to directly engage fringe websites making wild charges, and if they were to do so they certainly wouldn't have Michelle Obama make the call.
Maybe the folks at API were taken in by an imposter. Maybe they made it up, I don't know.

Sure ABC covers this crazy story, to throw doubt on the fact that real scandal is sweeping the Obama campaign.
It may bring this issue forward so the weak knee press can actually ask about what is going on here?
If Robert Gibbs denies it, well darn it, it must not be true.
Gibbs would NEVVER lie to the American people...
Corsi is skeptical, just like everyone else. But unlike everyone else in the media, Corsi contacted them and asked them to release the tape.
I tend to agree.. API has pushed articles with weird quotes from other people as well.
I doubt this happened.
I hope there IS a tape but I doubt it.
Hopefully, if there is a tape. That API delivered it directly to the McCain campaign and that Juan brings it to the debate tonight

ABC covers the story only after Obama denies it. Were were they when this story was first talked about a few days ago?
While Michelle is a very Angry, Hate America, Racist Woman;
it pushes reality to think Michelle could be THAT STUPID AND OUT OF CONTROL!

Actually, Corsi has more credibility than the Obama camp...although that’s not saying much on his behalf.
Obama's campaign has already said nothing to this story and that I'm sure will be that.
We’ll see. I read all the email exchanges between Corsi and Korikr at http://www.americasright.com/ and Korikr isn’t acting scared or defensive- nor is he retracting in any way. I don’t know what to think- but if it’s this time tomorrow -our time- and there’s no tape- then API has some splainin to do..
Sounds like rabbit bait put out by the Obama folks.
A) Hard (kinda anyway) to believe Michelle is that stupid.
B) The more stories in the ‘right wing’ blogs they can discredit, the better smokescreen for their genuine malfeasance we are covering.
But I’ll keep an open ear out for the tape.
