He is reading "The Post-American World" -- "This is not a book about the decline of America, but rather about the rise of everyone else." So begins Fareed Zakaria's important new work on the era we are now entering. Following on the success of his best-selling The Future of Freedom, Zakaria describes with equal prescience a world in which the United States will no longer dominate the global economy, orchestrate geopolitics, or overwhelm cultures. He sees the "rise of the rest"the growth of countries like China, India, Brazil, Russia, and many othersas the great story of our time, and one that will reshape the world. The tallest buildings, biggest dams, largest-selling movies, and most advanced cell phones are all being built outside the United States. This economic growth is producing political confidence, national pride, and potentially international problems. How should the United States understand and thrive in this rapidly changing international climate? What does it mean to live in a truly global era? Zakaria answers these questions with his customary lucidity, insight, and imagination.
Just something to ponder as Election Day 2008 rapidly approaches!
Small wonder Fareedazzacka whatever is dumping on the GOP every chance he gets.
Do you have an original shot of this from a news source. I believe it. I’d just look to have a different copy.
Okay, I have an aversion to question marks.
I'll bet GWB has read this book, or is planning too. A bunch of conservatives and republicans have probably read or planned on reading it as well I bet.
There is ALOT to criticize Obama for, but is rather desperate.
Figures.
It is Obama’s agenda.
If anyone doubts that Obama has been groomed by overseas interests to be their Manchurian candidate, you live in a fantasy world.
This man is not running to be President of the US, he running to bring America to the table for assimilation into world government.

It’s more about agenda than anything else to knock him down for.
“there is ALOT to criticize O’Bama about.”
I agree with you that with so many targets, there are too many stupid distractions...
Fundamentals, people, waiting for confirmation that O’Bama was born in North Korea is NOT a rational strategy.
WE MUST BURN ALL THE BOOKS WE DON’t AGREE WITH!!! /s
Man get a grip.
Wouldn’t be surprised if Obama, Bush, Barney Frank and McCain are all in the same book club.
You do realize that US foreign policy, and the stated goal of pretty much every international organization has been the development and economic strength of the rest of the world?
This is the author’s column on Governor Palin:
Palin Is Ready? Please.

I almost completely agree (I would completely agree, but I would like to leave room for Canada to have some of the credit).
In fact, the strongest opposition to the growing economies in (most) of the rest of the world is coming from self-annoited saviours of the planet (eco-fascists, global warming alarmists, and their ilk).
Who said anything about burning books? Are you an idiot? Don’t start posting that crap on this thread and attributing it to me. I pointed out the fact that this man is reading this particular book, its agenda, its focus, and the words that come out of Obama’s mouth are all globalism, socialism, and down talking America period.
Get a grip man. R.I.F.
It’s a good book. (I haven’t read it.) The issue is not worth pursuing. However the news that Zero was born in North Korea, oughta lead us to a good strategy (or tactic? John McCain will explain the difference tonight.).
I remember reading that. He also has a garbage program on CNN. A socialist circle jerk that comes on during the weekend.
No problem with the Canadians, its the North American alliance at work. You might even want to broaden it out to the Anglo-American alliance. The Brits and Aussies have done a damn lot too.
