He took from the government to give to the people. The evil was not embodied in acquired wealth, it was in excessive taxation. Robin Hood was a tax cutter. Robin Hood should be a conservative icon ... not a liberal stooge.

Well, I see your point, but I have to disagree with you. Obama is taking from the government and giving to the people. Obama simply uses the IRS to fund the gov't. He would say, "I don't collect taxes!" Robin hood gave someone else's riches to the masses -- just like Obama.

Had Robin Hood stopped the tax collectors from collecting taxes, I would say you had an excellent point.

Obama is taking from the people to give to other people. The government is sacrificing nothing. The villain is the rich.

Robin Hood took from the tax collector, and gave back to those from whom taxes were collected. That’s a tax cut. He wasn’t redistributing, he was refunding.

The primary villain was the Sheriff of Nottingham — the tax collector who took money from working stiffs to fill government coffers.
