Thanks for the kind words. My main concern is that Repubs/conservatives do not understand how important it is to pin the financial crisis on the RAT party. If they succeed in pinning it on us, they will beat us over the head with it for generation. They will use it to promote regulation over the entire ecomony and demonize capitalism.

Hmmm. Actually I think your post was intended for mquinn.

Having said that I agree with both of you that McCain will not win this thing based on Ayers. But it is still a legitimate issue that speaks to the character of Obama in a profound way. Unfortunately, the left is not concerned with character.

Equally unfortunately, I don’t think McCain is going to win on a discussion of the financial crisis. He has clearly demonstrated that he cannot speak clearly on the subject. You are completely right that the Dems will hang it on the right for a generation. If we had a candidate who was genuinely articulate they could make the case.

I like John McCain, but his ability to present complex ideas in an understandable fashion is only marginally better than GWB whose biggest failure (in general) has not been his policies, but his incompetence behind the bully pulpit.
