Gov. Sarah Palin met with a group of Senator Hillary Rodham Clintons former supporters Tuesday evening at a special fund-raising reception organized for them on behalf of the Republican ticket.
The reception, which organizers said brought in more than $500,000, was part of an extended evening of fund-raising for Ms. Palin and Senator John McCains presidential campaign at the Grand Hyatt in New York that officials estimated raised more than $8 million.
Ms. Palin, along with her husband, Todd, mingled and posed for pictures with the group of about 20, before appearing at the larger finance event, which McCain campaign officials said was the last time Mr. McCain would personally appear at a fund-raiser before the election. It was also the first time the pair had appeared together for donors.
More than 1,000 people paid $1,000 each for tickets to the main fund-raiser. Nearly 250 people who contributed $25,000 got dinner beforehand with Mr. McCain...
Other prominent former Clinton supporters in attendance included John Coale, a former Hillraiser, Washington lawyer and husband of Fox News television host Greta Van Susteren.

“NICE!
Come on Slick Willy, work your magic for our team!”
If it were any other year, I’d have thought I was in the Twilight Zone seeing this on FR.
I’d like to believe you’re right- but I’m not so sure. Hillary has done 30 campaign appearances for Obama.
The enemy of my enemy, is my friend.
LOL. The NYT must have loved having to make mention of this little get together...

And she’s geeting paid for everone one. -:) But, not so Bill- that’s why they call him “slick”.
Everyone at the reception contributed $28,500 to McCain-Palin Victory 2008, a joint fund-raising committee for the Republican National Committee and several state Republican parties.

Ha. Think these money people think Palin is 14 points down?
Greta Van Susteren has a husband? And it’s a man?
I’m telling you Bubba C. is hot for Sarah and figures being The Second Dude to The First Dude is better than nothing!
But isn’t it interesting that these Hillary for Obama events don’t get a lot of press. Think she’s not really putting her heart into it? Their agreement was he pays her debt and she doesn’t campaign against him. I’m sure Bill and Hill told him “You don’t think we’d actually help you, do you?”
Hillary is trying to hedge her bets. She is trying to walk a tightrope between undermining Obama so she can run in 2012, and showing him just enough support so that if he does win she can get a high ranking cabinet position. Personally I think that she would rather him lose so she can run in four years, but she is not so stupid as to burn any bridges and be left out in the cold if that doesn’t work.
Hey, Obama is a leftist. Bill is just a liberal. Give me a liberal any day.

She has a husband! I was surprised and happy for her.
And, uh, yes, I think he’s a man? -:)
There are quite a few women who don’t like watching the misogyny flow unchecked in this election - it has nothing to do with Democrats or Gloria Steinem and everything to do with what occurs on a day-to-day basis in the real world.
Ummmmm...you said that..
Repeatedly..
