Congratulate me please! Wow, I can’t believe this. The votes are still counting, but as a Canadian freeper, I may have helped deliver a shocking defeat to a 4-time incumbent liberal, the minority whip!

Wow, the incumbent won last time by 43% to 32% in 2006, it is now 36.7% conservative, 35.8% liberal in our riding. The incumbent won by 4,000 votes last time, the conservative is now leading by 300+ votes. Wow!

This is unbelievable. I didn’t intend to vote today because I thought it’s perhaps a very long shot for the local conservative candidate. However, I got very angry when the liberal and NDP leaders constantly bashed Harper as Canada’s George W. Bush. So I decided in the last minute to go to the poll! Wow, it looks like our local conservative candidate, a long shot, is going to win!!

You know just because your candidate is a long shot is never a reason to stay home. Especially if you’re a Conservative.

Leave the staying at home business to the Dems/Libs

Just a reminder about the new campaign finance law- even though I hate the idea of subsidies for political parties, the upside is that even if your local candidate doesn’t have a snowball’s chance, your vote is worth money to the party. The sweetest aspect of it is that it was a law brought in by the Libs while they were in power, and now it’s biting them in the @$$!
