Saw Palin in Richmond today (Mon 13 October 2008). Introductory speeches by Jerry Kilgore, Robb Whittman, Jim Gilmore.
Other than Palin herself, the highlight was Hank Williams, Jr., singing the National Anthem and then doing a multi-verse rendition of his "Family Tradition" with new campaign lyrics extoling the virtues of John McCain and Sarah Palin.
Believe H.W. Jr. was also in Virginia Beach with McCain and Palin in the morning.
Big crowd in Richmond VA, out in the grass in a makeshift outdoor theater on the grounds of Richmond International Raceway.
Hope video makes it online.
Mike B.
I didn't see any knuckleheads from the other side.
Thanks for this post,mb. I’m so sorry that I missed Hank Jr. sing our National Anthem.
It was a great rally with a LOT of energy!! It appeared the crowd exceeded 25,000. A little frustrating for the people further back because of sound difficulties; the sound guys didn’t do a mike check until 5 minutes out. Other than that, all went well. Hank sang the new “McCain-Palin Tradition” and lit up the crowd, along with his singing of the National Anthem.
Try this link. This video actually shows the rally wing Hank singing the new song.

We got Hank and they got the skank Madonna. I will take Hank Jr over any one of the lefts singers.
I saw it and he did it pretty well without any musical backup. His other one, (I think “Family Tradition”) was classic.
The best part was what was Sarah.
Woo hoo Hank Jr. Was that him rappin? boy he knew those lines. Wonderful! V’s wife.
Yeah, he was a rappin'. Good ol' Hank Jr. had the pleasure of introducing him on stage a few (many) years ago as a Country DJ.
Man, that is so awesome I can hardly believe it. Junior is telling it just like it is! Let’s get fired up and keep fighting! This is no time to be mind-dulled defeatists like the MSM would like us to be.
The better half and her sister went to the rally and throughly enjoyed it.

Thanks for posting!
Ought to have a Sing Out between Hank Jr and that idiot Springsteen
I saw that today or caught a clip of it in passing and thought, “that dude looks like Hank Williams Jr.” and I reckon I was right.
“We came from the West Virginia coalmines
And the Rocky Mountains and the western skies
And we can skin a buck; we can run a trot-line
And a country boy can survive
Country folks can survive”
===========
Now I met an old friend
In the bar the other night
And he got a little drunk
And he wanted to fight
And he jumped up
And challenged every man in the room
And just about the time he got the words out
An 'ol boy jumped up and closed his mouth
And used his head for a mop
And his butt for a broom
It was an attitude adjustment
I guess it was his first time
An attitude adjustment
Now he understands just fine
He got bent out of shape
And he opened his mouth
And just one appointment
Straightened him right out
It was an adttitude adjustment
Oh It'll work every time
Well I've got this big 'ol brother-in-law
And me and him just never did get along
Because he wants to make sure
I'm treating his sister right
He got drunk one night
And started beating me up
And I went and got a tire tool
Out of my truck
And laid him out as cold as a block of ice
It was an attitude adjustment
And it will work every time
An attitude adjustment
I made him see the light
And he says I'm his kind of man
And he comes around with his hat in his hand
It was an attitude adjustment
I cured all his family pride
Now my girlfriend slapped me in the face
I said darlin that was you're first mistake
Then she went wild and her eyes turned red
She started breaking everything
And sceaming loud
And kickin me and cussin me out
And I gave her a little adjustment
On the top of the head
It was an attitude adjustment
Now she loves on me all the time
Just an attitude adjustment
She got a whole new frame of mind
She don't nag
And I don't beg
And we get along and like I said
Just an attitude adjustment
Oh everythings just fine
Well almost
She called the cops to take me in
And I said you're never gonna do it friend
And they just smiled
And said "Oh Yes We Will"
Now a stick to the head
And some kicks in the chin
And a several bites from Rin Tin Tin
And I couldn't wait to get into that jail
It was an attitude adjustment
Oh I went along peacfully
Attitude adjustment
Oh they made me cleary see
Cause my head is black
And my legs are blue
And both knee caps are bent clean through
It was an attitude adjustment
It made my whole outlook brand new
Just a attitude adjustment
It made my whole outlook brand new
Well he just nails it with the twang. That’s an act that’s gotta be hard to follow. But those folks are all pros, they make it look easy! It’s not easy. V’ wife.
Awesome! Hanks the best!
I emailed my sister so she could check it out too. She’s been a fan of Hank Williams Jr. since he first hit the airwaves many moons ago.
Country music isn’t my kind of music...but I loved this!!!!! ;-)))
God bless America!!!
McCain/Palin 2008!!!!!
