Radosh and Milton noted three decades ago certain aspects of the prosecution's case against the Rosenbergs were problematical, but still concluded that Julius and Ethel were guilty of atomic espionage and that the verdicts rendered were justified by the evidence.

What is striking here is that the Meeropols, after a half century of self-delusion, finally admitted that their parents weren't innocent, after all.

That’s because another man who had also been charged made a deathbed confession that he and Mr. Rosenberg had been Communist spies for the Soviets during WWII.
