A potentially fatal infection may be spreading to more students than ever before, but few school and county officials are tracking it.
Sometimes called the superbug, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA, is a drug-resistant strain of staph infections that can be deadly if left untreated.
While concerns about the blood-borne bacterial infection were once relegated to hospitals or the occasional locker room, reports of the infections continue to rise in schools across the country.
Weve been seeing what we call the community-acquired strain of MRSA since 2001, said Registered Nurse Sean OGrady, who works in the St. Mary Medical Center infection control department and has been educating local schools about the infections. It has slowly been growing and growing, and now its worldwide.

This is a growing problem and schools are a major breeding ground for it.
Cue AlGore.....
Maybe the kids shouldn’t be going to lesbian weddings then?
Due largely to illegal aliens. UK hospitals have a rampant problem due to national health, dirty & lazy workers and open-borders.
TB is coming back thanks to Haitians and other coming to America,
Fellow soldier, brother, and Freeper NCKerr got MRSA and it almost killed him. No antibiotic could cure it, so he tried colloidal silver patches (as a last resort) that he cut up and inserted into the sores. It cleared them up and he used Tea Tree Oil on subsequent recurrences until they were gone for good. His doctor was amazed at the outcome. Never treat a skin infection like MRSA with internal antibiotics as is done in the USA. Leave antibiotics as a LAST resort; but if you have to resort to them, you’re as good as dead anyways when it comes to MRSA. No germ can immunize to colloidal silver, so it is your only defense along with Tea Tree Oil. Just ask NCKerr, he’s a living testimony, thank God!
How can the kids of today build up a natural tolerance to infectious diseases? The slightest sniffle, and we whip out the disinfectant nose wipes, we dont allow our kids to drink from the local rivers, streams or even a local park fountain. We dont allow our kids to develop the natural defenses that our parents allowed us. AND as soon as our kids sniffle, we rush them off to a doctor, who, in most cases, will prescribe and antibiotic.
“Due largely to illegal aliens.”
Very true. Packing young people together like sardines in school (often not letting them leave campus for lunch) doesn’t help matters, either.
All schools in my county, or just my state, or the country, or the world?
Not all schools, but it’s increasing throughout the U.S. and other countries with open borders policies.
We just bought a bottle of Collaidal silver(sic).
The fellow who told us about it swears by it as he has severe medical care needs as my son.
I have not used it yet.
Have all the info written on it.
We use Hydrogen Peroxide and Saline steril water to clean tools and stoma sites and it has worked fine and economical.
But I have the bottle of Col silver in the cupboard if needed.
So good to here another testimony other than the ones from the local company that makes it.
10 bucks for a 750ml bottle.
Abolish schools, and this problem is solved. Along with countless other problems.
A family member got this about a month ago. It was pretty bad and resulted in hospitalization for several days. They said this was the sixth recent case they had seen.

The FDA is partly responsible as well. It is very expensive and takes many years to push a new drug through the approval process and in the meantime the patent is running out.
Germs are constantly evolving and developing resistance to existing antibiotics. Part of the solution is to extent the patents so drug companies can make more money on their inventions. This would encourage research and development and make new drugs available.
Also...Our local elementary school warehouse 700 children. If kids are treated like farm animals, they will get sick from epidemics like animals.
To prevent the spread of bacteria all that is needed is antibacterial wipes or now this is big.... soap and water, wash desk and door knobs and hands with soap and water.
If it was easy to get infected with staff I would look like the Swamp Thing.
