Θbama was an adult living in New York less than 20 miles from where the Weather Underground and the Black Liberation Army slaughtered two police officers and a Brink's security guard. That is also the same year, he publicly admits to traveling to Pakistan.

Why did he travel to Packistan? Was if for a vacation?

The “explanation” was that he had room mates at Columbia University who were Pakistani which apparently interested him enough to go to a country that was under martial law until 1985 and was adjacent to Iran (overrun by radical Shiites) and Afghanistan (invaded by USSR in 1979).

When he disclosed the trip in April 2008 in a private fundraiser in San Francisco, he claimed it gave him foreign policy experience without explaining what was his actual experience in Pakistan.

Here's some good coverage on his possible THREE trips to Pakistan!

He first visited in 1981, the summer between Occidental and Columbia.

Its been reported he made a second trip to see his mother in Pakistan (1987-1992) while she worked for the Asian Development Bank. The most likely time would have been 1991 after he graduated Harvard Law.

There is also a suggestion that he visited Pakistan while an Illinois State Senator. That would have been 1997 thru 2004. It's possible the person has confused the dates. The Such Gup section appears to be a gossip/opinion section.

Obama came to Pakistan when he was merely a state senator more than a decade ago and not a full blown senator in the US Senate. So, can we expect him to look kindly upon us?
